Inspiration for a contemporary courtyard stone patio remodel in Seattle with no cover

Multi-Dimensional Pool & Lounge Area by Gappsi This pool and lounge area of a private residence located on Long Island, features the design and construction, from concept to completion, by Gappsi Group. The elevated concrete freeform pool with natural stone veneer & matching coping is accompanied by a large custom-built natural stone spa. The patio surrounding the pool and spa is made up of a french pattern travertine, and matching coping. The multi-dimensional design compliments the natural terrain of the property, and also provides a subtle and organic transition from the pool to the entertaining areas. The pier mounts juxtapositioned on either side of the stone steps leading to the pool area, and the downlights outlining the pools facade offers a warm glow and cozy ambiance. Also worth mentioning is the beautiful custom outdoor fireplace, and waterfall. The high quality, stylish and durable furniture adds the finishing touches on this outdoor sanctuary. All construction and installation was completed by our highly skilled Gappsi Group team members; Giuseppe Abbrancati, Vincent D’Accolti, and Curt Cardillo. The Quarry Mill's Chamberlain real thin stone veneer adds character to the exterior of this home with wainscoting and accent walls. Chamberlain is a dimensional cut marble natural stone veneer. The stone is cut to heights of 2.25”, 5”, and 7.75” which creates clean and formal lines. Dimensional cut stone is also referred to as sawed height stone within the industry. Chamberlain has a deep depth of color with a tempered or washed-out looking surface over the darker blue and grey tones. The lighter whites and greys permeate the stone with occasional earthy browns from the minerals present within the ground. The texture of Chamberlain is rough due to how the stone naturally splits apart.

This remodel of a mid century gem is located in the town of Lincoln, MA a hot bed of modernist homes inspired by Gropius’ own house built nearby in the 1940’s. By the time the house was built, modernism had evolved from the Gropius era, to incorporate the rural vibe of Lincoln with spectacular exposed wooden beams and deep overhangs. The design rejects the traditional New England house with its enclosing wall and inward posture. The low pitched roofs, open floor plan, and large windows openings connect the house to nature to make the most of its rural setting. Photo by: Nat Rae Photography

Lockridge real thin stone veneer from the Quarry Mill adds elegance to this residential home. Lockridge is a quintessential grey toned dimensional real stone veneer. From a distance the stones appear to be a solid and singular color, however, upon closer inspection one can see the unique veining. Some pieces have solid horizontal lines running through the stone, whereas, others have a more speckled appearance. Every individual piece has its own character, a quality that can only be achieved with natural stone. Lockridge has sawn heights of 2.25”, 5” and 7.75” and is cut specifically for a half-inch mortar joint. Larger heights are available upon request depending on the scale of the project.

I created interest in this all-white backsplash by changing the position of each dimensional tile. It’s invigorating!
