"Everything in the informal dining space as well as the living room is new," Jennifer explains. "I changed it all; the walls used to be grey and the furniture used to be off white. I had antique chippy paint cabinets and all kinds of french decor ... I have evolved from that and now want simple, fun and bright." Starting with painting the walls white, Jennifer let the room evolve as she went. "Then I started to move the furniture around to see what I had, to make sure it worked," she describes. From there it became a process of eliminating and adding back in. The brass shelving was a "picking" find that Jennifer retrieved from the side of the road. By emphasizing the large windows with white drapery, and adding in soft textural elements, Jennifer created a fresh space that exudes depth and comfort. "I would never want anyone to ever come in and say they don't feel comfortable. I feel I have created that chic, fun, eclectic style space that anyone of any age can enjoy and feel comfortable in." The pale blue wall color enlivens the dining area while tying into the gray of the counters and tile floor. A Perennials fabric was used on the chair cushions, and a contemporary lighting fixture completes the scene.

The stunning two story dining room in this Bloomfield Hills home, completed in 2015, allows the twenty foot wall of windows and the breathtaking lake views beyond to take center stage as the key focal point. Twin built in buffets grace the two side walls, offering substantial storage and serving space for the generously proportioned room. The floating cabinets are topped with leathered granite mitered countertops in Fantasy Black. The backsplashes feature Peau de Béton, lightweight fiberglass reinforced concrete panels, in a dynamic Onyx finish for a sophisticated industrial look. The custom walnut table sports a metal edge binding, furthering the modern industrial theme of the buffets. The soaring ceiling is treated to a stepped edge detail with indirect LED strip lighting above to provide ambient light to accent the scene below.

This drop dead gorgeous kitchen encompasses custom white cabinetry with quartz and marble countertops. The curved banquette is a special touch to the sitting breakfast nook and the yellow chandelier brings it all together. It is the perfect place for a family dinner.
