The client came to us looking for a kitchen remodel for her Redwood City home. She donned a wild, colorful skirt and a charming personality—and she was looking to echo her style in her home.
We were smitten with the client who travels the world with her partner collecting odd and wonderful items: goose feet salt-and-pepper stoneware, strange furniture, off-the-wall lamp fixtures, and a cow portrait from Istanbul aptly titled Miss Cow.
To match and balance their collection and personalities, we embraced the eclectic in subtle but significant ways.
First, we brought the outside in. We removed a few walls to open the kitchen into the dining and living space and to the large, floor-to-ceiling windows that lined the west side of the home. These look over a large acre of land that’s carefully kept and worked to grow an abundance of vegetables, and they introduced a vibrant scene to the kitchen.
We chose soft, light colors for the kitchen cabinets and backspace with simple, homey stainless steel and glass wall cabinets. This allowed the clients’ colorful accessories and fresh goods to shine.
Then, as a statement piece, we used a faux marble backsplash and countertop—understated to marry well with the vibrant home, but iconic. We contrasted this with a Belgian-blue Neolith countertop on the island where the goose feet stoneware would live.
As the final touch, we brought in Miss Cow, whose bright green background and pink nose added the perfect pop of color and demanded attention.
Finally, we vetted a contractor to work on the updates—someone both we and the client could trust.

Makeup mirrors are a woman’s or a man’s best friend, they can save you from foundation lines, overgrown eyebrows, and other preventable beauty blunders. Before shopping for a quality makeup mirror, we recommend narrowing down your choices by learning which type of makeup mirror will not only look great in your bathroom, but have you looking your best as well. Magnifying mirrors will give you a new perspective on your skin while cosmetic mirrors are designed to give you red carpet style in the comfort of your own home. Magnifying mirrors can also be found as double face mirrors, with different magnifications on each mirror face. The most popular magnification is 5x as it is ideal for brow tweezing and perfecting eyeliner. Facial mirrors are great for the man of the bathroom and make shaving safer and easier. Lighted Makeup Mirrors are ideal if you want to make the most of each brush, line, and stroke when applying your makeup. Wall Mounted Makeup Mirrors are becoming increasingly popular, we know find them as a standard in hotel rooms. Many of them have extendable arms, which gives you the freedom to adjust it as needed for better lighting or positioning. Additionally, many lighted mirrors today are also wall mounted, which gives you another option to choose from. The best part is several lighted makeup mirrors are now battery powered, which saves you the headaches of hardwired installations. Free Standing Makeup Mirrors, probably the most popular option in this category. Free standing makeup mirrors are fashionable and trendy. They are easy to move from one room to the other or simply closer to a window or better lighting. No matter the type of makeup mirror you choose, you can always rely on one to help you transform into a professional makeup artist and aid you in your quest for flawless skin. Back porch design was part of the Kingston Design Connections Showhouse. My vision immediately centered around three words: cozy, warm and escape. I imaged this porch as a serene retreat- a space where you can sip tea while basking in the glory of the large backyard. It's where an impromptu glass of wine with a close friend feels like an indulgent escape from the everyday chaos.

Nestled in the heart of Denver's historic Park Hill neighborhood, Park Hill Haus is a complete luxury home renovation and interior design project that reimagines a 1946 residence into a refined yet deeply livable family retreat. Designed for two medical professionals seeking sanctuary from demanding careers, this full-scale transformation was guided by a vision of creating a home that feels elevated, peaceful, and effortlessly welcoming.
Every inch of the home was thoughtfully redesigned and renovated from top to bottom, with no detail overlooked. While the residence underwent a comprehensive modernization, great care was taken to preserve the character and architectural heritage that make Park Hill homes so beloved. The result is a seamless blend of old and new—a modern transitional home that honors its roots while embracing contemporary luxury living.
Inspired by the clients' love of international travel and iconic luxury fashion houses, the interiors draw subtle influence from the timeless sophistication of Chanel. Layered textures, restrained elegance, and carefully curated materials create a sense of understated luxury that feels both aspirational and approachable. Rather than designing a home that feels formal or untouchable, the goal was to create spaces that invite connection, comfort, and everyday enjoyment.
Throughout the home, a palette of warm neutrals and earthy tones establishes a calming foundation. Natural materials, rich textures, and globally inspired details reflect the clients' travels around the world, adding depth, personality, and a collected feel to each space. The design balances refinement with warmth, creating an environment that feels luxurious without ever feeling cold.
Family-centered living was at the heart of every design decision. Gathering spaces were thoughtfully planned to support both intimate moments and effortless entertaining, while private areas provide a serene retreat for rest and restoration. The home's atmosphere evokes the feeling of a boutique luxury hotel layered with the comfort and authenticity of a well-loved family home.
Park Hill Haus stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful luxury interior design—where heritage architecture, modern functionality, and worldly inspiration come together to create a home that is timeless, inviting, and uniquely personal.
