Inspiration for a transitional bathroom remodel in Austin

The existing sparse exterior of this Cape Cod home left much to be desired. The red brick, brown siding and dark front entry gave it a dreary look in need of a total makeover. MainStreet owner and lead designer, Steve Ramaekers, had a vision from the moment he first saw the home. New Marvin true divided light windows in a stone finish were just the beginning. A complete change from the old cedar siding to a James Hardie cement siding “smooth side out” with 7″ reveal and real machine split Western Red Cedar Shake shingle siding with 7″ reveal started to make the home take shape. The new carriage style garage doors with beautiful lantern style lights on either side, provide a focal point and is now a main feature for a passerby. New Board-N-Batten Style Shutters along with 6″ 20.44 oz half round copper gutters , 4″ round seamless copper downspouts and fittings gave the home the finishing touch. All new exterior colors took the home from drab and bland to it’s new look with a warm inviting feel and great curb appeal!

Our Bellevue studio created a calm, peaceful sanctuary in this beautiful Sammamish home for our busy clients and their young children. We chose a neutral palette with pops of blues, greens, and wood tones to create a warm coastal appeal. In the living room, elegant furniture and comfortable fabrics create a charming, welcoming vibe. The primary bedroom is designed as a sanctuary for relaxation with cozy furnishings, soft colors, and a hint of greenery. Meanwhile, in the kids' bedrooms, we chose playful colors and cute decor that create a cheerful ambiance. The open-concept kitchen and family living room have a bright, airy feel, making it a great place for warm get-togethers. We also added a fun and functional office space with plenty of storage space for files and documents.

Hired by the owners to provide interior design services for a complete remodel of a mid-century home in Berkeley Hills, California this family of four’s wishes were to create a home that was inviting, playful, comfortable and modern. Slated with a quirky floor plan that needed a rational design solution we worked extensively with the homeowners to provide interior selections for all finishes, cabinet designs, redesign of the fireplace and custom media cabinet, headboard and platform bed. Hues of walnut, white, gray, blues and citrine yellow were selected to bring an overall inviting and playful modern palette. Regan Baker Design was responsible for construction documents and assited with construction administration to help ensure the designs were well executed. Styling and new furniture was paired to compliment a few existing key pieces, including a commissioned piece of art, side board, dining table, console desk, and of course the breathtaking view of San Francisco's Bay. Scott and Janet of Elgin have had four design to build renovations with Advance Design over the last decade. We got the chance to sit down and talk with Janet about her experience working with Advance Design on so many different areas of her home.
