This home is a modern farmhouse on the outside with an open-concept floor plan and nautical/midcentury influence on the inside! From top to bottom, this home was completely customized for the family of four with five bedrooms and 3-1/2 bathrooms spread over three levels of 3,998 sq. ft. This home is functional and utilizes the space wisely without feeling cramped. Some of the details that should be highlighted in this home include the 5” quartersawn oak floors, detailed millwork including ceiling beams, abundant natural lighting, and a cohesive color palate. This is a California xeriscape succulent garden. Clients wanted color and texture with drought-resistant plant materials. They enjoy garden sculptures, so we included a Buddha and a Roman bust planted with succulents. The previous owners of the property left behind some old San Francisco cobblestones, which we incorporated into the new design, using them as garden steps. We built low, raised beds out of stone, also existing on the property, and used containers along steps and against existing concrete walls to soften the hard surfaces.

Styling on a sideboard doesn't have to be complicated, a simple vase with some dried flowers is so effective and helps bring all the colours in the room together.

Denisa Anderson of Merrily Along Floral centers her beautiful wintry arrangement around a creamy white poinsettia, along with white mums, creamy alstroemeria and eucalyptus. She added cedar, boxwood, camellia foliage, dried cress and dried fern, and plumes of ornamental grass cut from her garden.
