The story of this home is very unassuming, but that was the objective, to create the most intuitive, discreet, thoughtful smart home possible for our client. The clients are very tech-savvy individuals, but not over the top. They knew what they wanted, and what they wanted was clean and reliable technology in their home. Simple as that. A complete smart home system built just for them, providing a seamless experience. Automated lighting and shades timed and tuned to their preferences, security and surveillance giving them 24/7 peace of mind, climate control always at the ideal temperature, and an audio/video system that is not only brilliant in sound, but modern, easy to control, and beautiful. Two words come to mind for these clients after the project was complete… “Welcome Home.”

The L- shaped island features a built-in microwave oven and wine cooler, breakfast bar and custom built bench seating with hidden storage. The side door was moved to the rear of the house for easy access to the yard and a pantry was added to the space next to the door. Smart technology was added with a Samsung refrigerator with Family Hub and lighting and audio controlled by Alexa voice controlled intelligence. All the Samsung appliances are finished in modern black stainless steel. The beautiful blue glass tile backsplash is Jeffrey Court Caribbean Gloss and the sleek countertops are Stella New Age Quartz.

Renovisions recently remodeled a first-floor bath for this South Shore couple. They needed a better solution to their existing, outdated fiberglass shower stall and had difficulty squatting to enter the shower. As bathroom designers, we realize that a neo-angle shower is a simple and minimalistic design option where space is a premium. The clipped corner creates an angled opening that allows easy access to the shower between other fixtures in the bathroom. This new shower has a curb using a combination of glass and tile for the walls. Taking advantage of every possible inch for the shower made an enormous difference in comfort while showering. A traditional shower head along with a multi-function hand-held shower head and a shampoo niche both save space and provide a relaxing showering experience. The custom 3/8″ thick glass shower enclosure with mitered corners provides a clean and seamless appearance. The vanity’s bead-board design in sage green compliments the unique veining and hues in the quartz countertop. Overall, the clients were ecstatic with their newly transformed bathroom and are eager to share it with friends and family. One friend in fact, exclaimed that the bathroom resembled one she had seen in a five star resort!

Since the mantle was not very impressive, there was no harm in making a new one that could house better speakers. We chose Totem Kin in wall speakers – they have great performance for their size (which was perfect mantle height) and their built-in sealed back box assured no loss in quality or unnecessary vibration resonance like backless speakers.
