This Project consisted of an 11′x16′ Aquascape Ecosystem Pond Build in Lancaster, PA. The Pond install included a 10′ stream. LED landscape lights were installed in the Pond and the Stream. Also included were fish and aquatic plants. We finished off the pond build with some surrounding landscaping including a few plants and mulched planting beds. We used Bark mulch and pine needle mulch around the pond.

We build our ponds to work with mother nature, not against her. By doing so, we have less pond maintenance, allowing us to enjoy the benefits of the pond instead of having to work on the pond. By constructing your water feature to perform as an ecosystem, nature is at the heart of the water cycle, not man. As a result, the root systems of pond plants filter the water, natural bacteria breaks down organic matter and pond fish eat the algae. No chemicals or other devices, just nature, doing what nature does best.

Set in Montana's tranquil Shields River Valley, the Shilo Ranch Compound is a collection of structures that were specifically built on a relatively smaller scale, to maximize efficiency. The main house has two bedrooms, a living area, dining and kitchen, bath and adjacent greenhouse, while two guest homes within the compound can sleep a total of 12 friends and family. There's also a common gathering hall, for dinners, games, and time together. The overall feel here is of sophisticated simplicity, with plaster walls, concrete and wood floors, and weathered boards for exteriors. The placement of each building was considered closely when envisioning how people would move through the property, based on anticipated needs and interests. Sustainability and consumption was also taken into consideration, as evidenced by the photovoltaic panels on roof of the garage, and the capability to shut down any of the compound's buildings when not in use.

Selecting native plants to border an irrigated lawn requires a thoughtful approach. These plants not only thrive in this environment but also attract pollinators to the strategically placed dwarf fruit trees, which will also benefit from the additional nearby irrigation. This design maximizes water efficiency while supporting a vibrant ecosystem. Photo taken at 3 months of growth.
