Up front, reclaiming a lawn has significant costs involving the installation and cultivation of the plants as they establish themselves. But, over time, the ecosystem created by the plants begins to take care of itself. Less maintenance, less water and fewer chemicals – in fact none at all – will be required for the space to flourish.

The project consists of an Aquascape Inc. ecosystem pond with streams surrounded by Pennsylvania Fieldstone boulders. The walkways are being constructed using Outdoor Living by Belgard pavers. One walkway is Holland Stone pavers and border. the other walkway is Mega Arbel patio slab with a Lafitt border.

A landscape created to be a no-mow garden. Full of plants that bring color throughout the year. Providing food and shelter for overwintering birds. A truly textural experience that supports the local ecosystem.

Originally designed by Paul Rudolph and more recently updated by noted architect Toshiko Mori, this Casey Key compound comprises 4 acres of Gulf-to-Bay exclusivity of manicured grounds: spacious turf areas under sculpted mature oak trees, a citrus grove, lap pool, herb garden. Recognizing the estate's sensitive proximity to the Florida ecosystem, the owner minimizes chemical use and has incorporated many native Florida plantings. Photo by Harold Bubil

I have a collection of premium quality, swamp recovered Dead Head Cypress that blows my mind every time I look at it. Dead Head Cypress is a colloquialism that refers to original ecosystem Florida Cypress that fell by natural causes, maybe 100 or even thousands of years ago. I bought a microscope so that I could count the growth rings. This wood has intense and pleasing graphics. Every board is special and is treated as such.
