HNA Hardscape Project Award Winner Carter Residence Council Bluffs, Iowa Paver Designs, LLC This project was built by Jim and Justin Hampton of Paver Designs LLC, a father and son company with no other employees. This multi-level patio/entertainment area is approximately 2,200 square feet. Pavers were placed over one inch of bedding sand and 9 in. of crushed, recycled concrete base. Designs were laid out on the pavers, all cut individually, then filled in with red and gold pavers. A sealer was the applied to the paver surface to enrich its colors. A polymeric joint sand stabilizer was used during the final compaction. A fireplace, wood boxes, and grill island were installed in lower patio area. The two level backyard patio is connected by sidewalks to a front courtyard.

We did the painting, flooring, electricity, and lighting. As well as the meeting room remodeling. We did a cubicle office addition. We divided small offices for the employee. Float tape texture, sheetrock, cabinet, front desks, drop ceilings, we did all of them and the final look exceed client expectation

The Lakeview Townhomes are located in the heart of downtown Seattle. The complex of three separate buildings comprised of five Townhome units is nestled into a difficult site at the base of Capitol Hill overlooking Lake Union, the Seattle Center, and Downtown Seattle. Like most of my work, the Lakeview Townhomes strive to incorporate the needs of a modern and sustainable lifestyle. Utilizing a simple and ‘organic’ material pallet such as Cedar siding, concrete floors, plywood, and raw steel interior details and finishes, the Townhomes are an elegant example of a sustainable, minimal, urban aesthetic. As the principal and sole employee of 360 Design Studio I was responsible for the full scope of architectural services; from SD through construction administration, including landscape design. Organic, clear finishes help to emphasise the character and beauty of the natural materials. Where ever possible the construction materials and details were left exposed. This, structural expression, along with the use of natural wood products combine to create a ‘warm industrial’ quality, and rich interior character.

Juxtaposition: defined as two things placed close together with contrasting effect, the word epitomizes this downtown Chicago residence. A family home, it evinces comfort, calm, and connection. Here, chaise lounges nestle side-by-side, welcoming wine-sippers, book-readers, and fireplace-gazers. There, an upholstered kitchen banquette recalls the coziness of a favorite restaurant’s corner table. And yet – while an elegant refuge for a busy family, this home is also a place of work. Indeed, it is the worldwide headquarters of a lauded anti-aging skincare company, complete with full-time employees and their offices. To meld the dual functions the house serves so seamlessly, workspaces are lavished with the same hallmarks that distinguish family-oriented rooms: a focus on ease, an open-minded use of space, thoughtfully considered décor, and an imaginative use of color that awakens a mostly neutral palette with joyful visual interest. Design ideas for a traditional full sun landscaping in Chicago for summer.

Our new project. To implement it, we were invited by the company in San Francisco. We had a very difficult task to do. The building in which we had to install sound-absorbing panels has a historical and architectural value, and the main thing was not to harm anything. And at the moment the building is used by the federal government, so that the work had to be carried out quickly and quietly, not to disturb the employees working in the building. We have carefully selected materials, so that the shade of color on the wall would be completely coincided with shade of the fabric set. In the choice, we stopped at a specially made for this purpose CLIPSO sound-absorbing fabric. This material is better than any other for this kind of work: 1) Clipso Sound Proof is specially designed for sound absorption. 2) This material is made of synthetic fabric impregnated with polyurethane, it is ready to cope with significant operational loads in public buildings. 3) The texture of the material looks like a canvas, which creates an additional atmosphere of comfort and harmony with every interior of the premises where we have installed it. In the base, behind the CLIPSO fabric, we have installed an additional layer of sound-absorbing material. This combination has increased the sound absorption to a factor of 1.0 (100%). All premises in which the work was carried out was provided to us for 3 days. During this time, we had to remove all lights, grille ventilation systems, as well as safety sensors and fire extinguishing systems. Then install the mounting profile in the places told by the architects,mount a layer of sound-absorbing material and sound-absorbing fabric CLIPSO. Then, it was necessary to put back all dismantled equipment. With this task we coped.

G3 designed the complete refurbishment of this 1960’s home. The guest house/pool/cabana/garage and connecting stone arcade were added as part of the comprehensive redevelopment of the site. G3 collaborated with the client’s decorator— a former G3 employee— to completely integrate new and old furnishings into the renovated home.

Projects like this are rare for us to do so it's fun to show off some different skills our team offers. Some background on this project, one of our employees was in a house fire and damaged most of his house, PDQ put in some hard work and started from basically scratch. This is still a work in progress, we have lots of work inside and still some outside work needed to be done, but this house will be a neat project to keep up with, so definitely keep an eye out for this one! They always loved their house – its shape and size, and the piece of land it sits on; but the interior left a lot to be desired. In fact, they hated it. They wanted it to be aesthetically more pleasing and to have much more function and flow. These homeowners challenged Lagois to make it the home of their dreams, and that’s exactly what happened. One of the homeowners loves to cook, but the kitchen was dark. The space was difficult and frustrating. The new kitchen is bigger, brighter, and more functional. It now has all the prep space he needs and the task lighting he always wanted. They also love their new spa bathroom, which is beautiful and warm and exactly what they had in mind. One of the homeowners describes himself as fussy and impatient, and at first he had been anxious about the whole prospect of renovation. He said afterwards that the team made him feel comfortable, listened to, and unconcerned. One factor that made them so at ease with choosing Lagois was the “in house” aspect of their services. The person who designed their home, the one who did the drawings, and the person who managed the construction are all Lagois employees. The homeowners liked knowing those critical functions weren’t outsourced. Another thing they love about their home is the finishes that are exactly to their taste. German Embassy in Pristina - Kosovo, contracted the architecture office “Ferizi + Ferizi Architects” to plan and implement an Annex Office building for their purposes. As detached part of this building is designed the waiting area, as alone standing structure. This Office Building is constructed by assembling of Eight used office containers that were delivered on trucks and set up after only a few hours on the basis of the LEGO principle, according to the planning on strip foundations. By removing the flexible exterior wall panels, a large room of 115 m² was created, with the counter wall as a room partition between two office spaces, each with seven workstations as well as three counters for agents on one side and a room for visitors on the other side. With this system, room solutions can be easily implemented in all dimensions. The container, seen as a geometric shape, is a simple, octagonal, solid box. The standardized perfection of its dimensions is striking: 2.44 meters wide, 2.59 meters high and 6.06 meters or 12.19 meters long. Since its introduction in 1956 by the American transport entrepreneur Malcom McLean, the container has become a standardized transport module worldwide, whether on ships, trucks or construction sites. The shipping containers have additionally revolutionized the transport industry, pushed the globalization noticeably, and thus directly or indirectly influenced all our lives. But after only a few years, when the first overseas containers wore out, many engineers recognized the positive properties of used shipping containers for building houses, especially since they are robust, flexible, multifunctional and second-hand relatively inexpensive to purchase. The time has long passed by to treat containers exclusively as transport objects. As a "measure of all things", containers can hardly be ignored in construction. Their use is no longer limited to temporary use since school containers, information containers, office containers or entire residential buildings are now part of our everyday life in the construction industry. However, current examples of the container architecture prove that even the most demanding solutions for container building are feasible. For their specific aesthetic and spatial qualities, containers also serve as design parameters for the development of new forms of architecture and urbanity. The office building as an extension of the visa section, characterized by modern materials and contemporary aesthetics has been designed and built mainly as a low-energy building. Extensive insulation to achieve a comfortable and sustainable constant temperature in the interior, high window quality and low energy consumption make the building energy-efficient. The sophisticated lighting technology, networks, heating systems and air-conditioning systems are also components of this equipment. It creates an overall harmonic picture and guarantees the highest standard in sustainable construction, taking into consideration the fact that environmentally friendly recycling and reutilization have become an increasingly important issue in our society. West and East side of the wooden facade is compact and has few openings, while the southern facade is completely open with lot of glass. Its spatial openness ensures a transparent, friendly work environment, which allows a lot of light into the space. This openness allows an uninterrupted, pleasant and close-to-nature view from interior spaces into the beautiful garden. During the installation of sophisticated light sources in the garden, emphasis was not only put on functionality and security, but also on the beauty of the garden shown through the illumination in the evening. Large, horizontal white “brisole” serve as external sun protection systems, mounted on the canopies of the entrance areas of the modular construction and the enclosure, adeptly cast shade on these areas and at the same time shape the entire architectural language. While on one hand, the two quadratic ledges suspended in the air, are docked with steel stairs and match the wooden façade, lead the staff to their office space, the artful modern interior, on the other hand, perfectly unites the functionality, innovative technology, culture and positive effects on the employees' efficiency and wellbeing. A lot of white, interjected by warm wooden and colored accents, determines the ambience. In the case of the lighting solution, the mainly linear ceiling lighting is used as the overlapping design element both for the offices of the visa section as well as for the counters and the waiting area for the visitors. They underline the puristic design in order to create a pleasant light for a desired general illumination and ensure optimal light conditions without causing disturbing reflections on the computer screens. In addition, precisely positioned pendant luminaires are installed at the workstations, which ensure pleasant room brightness. In the entrance area, the harmonic and uniform lighting effect from the ground highlights the integration of photography and architecture. Photographs of landscapes, people, places, expressing unforgettable, impressive moments and memories have been lovingly engraved on 8 x 8cm square oak blocks. The idea of an effective, impressive environment that stimulates and inspires the work was the premiss on which the whole design concept was based. Consequently, the modular construction was no longer viewed through its history of utilization and scars, but rather as a structure of work ambiance, art and elegance.
