With a window view and everything at her finger tips, it is easy to see why this is Chelsea's favorite room in the house. "It is a place where I am inspired, free to create and that is totally me", she describes. Although she considers this the "mess room", Chelsea has employed a system of organization to make project execution a smooth process. "My solution to clutter is storage, storage, storage - that's where those baskets come in!" By combining shelves and bins with pegboard and hooks, her creativity will never be overshadowed by the need to search for supplies. This home office was created from an outbuilding on the property. Seagrass wall-to-wall carpet was installed for ultimate durability and a relaxed vibe. We employed a high-low aesthetic to create a space that was unique but still within budget, utilizing the owner's Stickley desk, a custom desk chair, custom blush Roman shades, a Hudson Valley Fenwater chandelier and sconces, and multiple office items from budget sources like IKEA and The Container Store. A white elegant paneling is counterpoint to rustic elements. Earthy and elemental materials are selected for the home that reference the barn without directly mimicking it. Wooden members found inside the barn and from other barns bridge ceilings and are used in floors along with rustic slate adding to a sense of simplicity to the farmhouse design.
