Organic Contemporary Design in an Industrial Setting… Organic Contemporary elements in an industrial building is a natural fit. Turner Design Firm designers Tessea McCrary and Jeanine Turner created a warm inviting home in the iconic Silo Point Luxury Condominiums.
Transforming the Least Desirable Feature into the Best… We pride ourselves with the ability to take the least desirable feature of a home and transform it into the most pleasant. This condo is a perfect example. In the corner of the open floor living space was a large drywalled platform. We designed a fireplace surround and multi-level platform using warm walnut wood and black charred wood slats. We transformed the space into a beautiful and inviting sitting area with the help of skilled carpenter, Jeremy Puissegur of Cajun Crafted and experienced installer, Fred Schneider
Industrial Features Enhanced… Neutral stacked stone tiles work perfectly to enhance the original structural exposed steel beams. Our lighting selection were chosen to mimic the structural elements. Charred wood, natural walnut and steel-look tiles were all chosen as a gesture to the industrial era’s use of raw materials.
Creating a Cohesive Look with Furnishings and Accessories… Designer Tessea McCrary added luster with curated furnishings, fixtures and accessories. Her selections of color and texture using a pallet of cream, grey and walnut wood with a hint of blue and black created an updated classic contemporary look complimenting the industrial vide.

Some refer to this home as a Pacific Northwest Modern while others Mountain Contemporary and others consider it as modern ranch home, no matter your preference this home is tied to its surroundings, enhancing the ability to experience both home and nature together.
This home is in Central Oregon where the homeowners enjoy panoramic views of the Cascade mountain range.
The primary residence is under 2700 square feet, with a guest casita just over 700 square feet. As you enter the home, you cannot help but notice the mountain views, and modern-contemporary interior. Separating, the living room from the dining room is a beautiful contemporary fireplace. Entering the dining room and kitchen, you cannot help but know the homeowners have a passion for wine as you see the glassed-in elegant wine cellar. Greyed woods and metal are a feature of the stairs leading up to the bridge where you can enjoy breathtaking views. Across from the staircase is a home office. The main level also features a spacious master suite and dressing closet with pass-thru for convenient laundering. Upstairs there is another office facing the barn, where the homeowner can look in on their horses. Also upstairs there is another flexible space room and full bathroom.
A guest casita is separate from the primary residence by a covered outdoor kitchen, living and entertaining space. The casita features an open kitchen with island/bar seating and living room with a bedroom and bath.

Once a sunken living room closed off from the kitchen, we aimed to change the awkward accessibility of the space into an open and easily functional space that is cohesive. To open up the space even further, we designed a blackened steel structure with mirrorpane glass to reflect light and enlarge the room. Within the structure lives a previously existing lava rock wall. We painted this wall in glitter gold and enhanced the gold luster with built-in backlit LEDs. Also centered within the steel framing is a TV, which has the ability to be hidden when the mirrorpane doors are closed. The adjacent staircase wall is cladded with a large format white casework grid and seamlessly houses the wine refrigerator. The clean lines create a simplistic ornate design as a fresh backdrop for the repurposed crystal chandelier.

One of the subtle ways space was manipulated was to curve the wall behind the range. The stove wall divides the kitchen from the living room; at its' terminus in the living room it became the hallway entering the private section of the home. The curved natural upper cabinet at the beginning of the kitchen, mimics the curved wall in opposition but softens and eases the eye level entrance to the kitchen proper. This curved cabinet also offered tremendous storage space due to the unique design and construction of the door. The kitchen is in white excepting for defining areas of the same material the floor is constructed from: quartered sycamore. White enlarges one's perception of space and therefore should be used when the design is appropriate. One negative aspect of white is the tendency to create an antiseptic space. Due to the kitchens' small size and floor of sycamore it was easy to add natural wood as a focal point as well as enhance interest and flow of the whole space. The curving wall added to the depth of cabinets without being intrusive. The Sub Zero built in refrigerator anchored the narrow end of the kitchen but displayed a side of solid white to enhance the kitchen's termination. Good design, interesting design, requires some degree of attention but also the ability to be interpreted correctly by excellent craftsman. This kitchen design in New Hope, PA created an open living space in the home by removing a 24 foot wall between the kitchen and family room. The resulting space is a kitchen that is both elegant and practical. It is packed with features such as slate inserts above the hood, lights in all of the top cabinets, a double built-up island top, and all lighting remote controlled. All of the kitchen cabinets include specialized storage accessories to make sure every item in the kitchen has a home and all available space is utilized.

Widesky Custom Homes has recently completed a stunning new build in the community of Bearspaw, southwest of Calgary, and Rochelle Cote Interior Design (RCID) had the pleasure of collaborating on the interior design. The project reflects RCID’s expertise in blending luxury, functionality, and timeless aesthetics to create spaces that are both stylish and inviting.
The home showcases a harmonious mix of traditional and contemporary elements, resulting in a transitional design that feels fresh yet classic. RCID’s thoughtful approach is evident in every detail, starting with the kitchen. The unique hammered metal-look tile backsplash from Centura adds texture and visual interest, contrasting beautifully with the plaster hood fan for a balanced and sophisticated look. The wood island, complete with turned posts, introduces a sense of timeless elegance that complements the transitional style.
In the living area, RCID incorporated a stone fireplace paired with custom wood beams to create warmth and character. These features highlight the firm’s ability to integrate natural materials seamlessly into luxurious interiors. The selection of furniture, décor, and custom artwork further enhances the home’s aesthetic, blending darker cool tones with vibrant pops of color for depth and personality.
This Bearspaw residence exemplifies RCID’s commitment to crafting spaces that reflect their clients’ unique visions while ensuring comfort and style.
