Designer Janet Villafane of Villafane Design, LLC of Chester, New Jersey designed and executed this contemporary kitchen with Aston Smith of Bilotta Kitchens of New York. According to Villafane, “from the moment you meet this family you understand their priority in life is family and friends. We were looking for a design that, first and foremost, emphasized the occupants’ request to have a home that was inviting to all that entered. We continued to focus on that request throughout the design phase.” In addition, the design team needed to satisfy the needs of a disabled family member. They wanted him to be able to flow through all areas of the space and feel as if he could comfortably use the open kitchen and family room without any hindrance. The clients were inspired by clean lines and simplicity. When they spoke about their modern Florida home, one could hear and see their enthusiasm and excitement to bring that simplicity into their new home. It became evident early on that their new space should be contemporary but the home’s exterior, as well as the neighboring community, had an old world, traditional charm. The goal was to avoid competing aesthetics while respecting both looks. The resulting interior design incorporated slab doors with both semi-gloss white lacquer and grey stain on horizontal grained oak. The rich dark oak base cabinets perfectly balanced the ceiling beams. The use of a stainless channel system, in place of traditional hardware, and the stainless toe kick completed the design. The Bertazzoni cooktop and wall ovens in stainless steel, Sub-Zero refrigeration paneled in white semi-gloss, and a stainless steel chimney hood enhanced the clean, uninterrupted lines. The island countertop is Thunder White granite in a leathered finish; the perimeter is Super White Quartz; and the nook table is Virginia Mist honed granite. The backsplash is a frosted glass tile. The clients hope for quality, simplicity and functionality were beautifully achieved by the designers. Closed, solid front cabinets provide a “home” for everything in the kitchen. A seating nook with a large screen TV, as well as additional TVs visible throughout the kitchen and family room, satisfied the demand of watching multiple sporting events at one time. Understanding the importance of storage, the design incorporates ample cabinetry, as well as wooden open shelving for easy access to everyday items. The central island, with a built-in hob and seating area, serves as the focal point for family gatherings and social cooking. Equipped with high-quality Neff ovens and a range of modern appliances, the kitchen strikes the perfect balance between style and functionality.

For this kitchen design we wanted to have a variety of material and colour options to visually see what would work best for the style of home without having to put together multiple mood boards and wait for samples. The 3D renders used brought everything together quickly and in a form that was much more comprehensive and easy to understand how all the pieces worked together. We maximized the usability of the space with efficient storage solutions and added character with an antique farmhouse door to the pantry. Adding larger windows that extend to the ceiling added much needed light and opened the whole space up considerably. Wall sconces flanking the hood vent enhanced to crown moulding and provides visual interest.

The whole house custom project in Canada may be a large-scale residential custom cabinet project. We need to design and manufacture cabinets that meet customer requirements for different areas of the whole house, such as kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom. Our mission is to provide high-quality, aesthetically pleasing and functional cabinetry to meet the needs of our customers and enhance the value of the home. On this project we worked with architects, designers and contractors to ensure that our cabinetry would fit perfectly into the design of the entire home. We need to design and manufacture cabinets in various sizes, shapes and colors according to the different requirements and space constraints of each room. When communicating with customers, we will understand their preferences and needs in order to provide them with the best cabinet solutions.

An intimate understanding of the clients led to the immaculate renovation of this Baltimore County project by Penza Bailey Architects. After conducting a feasibility study to assist the clients in selecting the right home, the firm got to work, removing traditional trim and dated finishes to craft a contemporary retreat. In addition to cosmetic upgrades, the home received a four-foot addition to expand the living and dining rooms, now with expansive windows overlooking the new resort style pool, cabana, and complementing pool house perfect for summer gatherings or solo swims. Inside, a four-foot expansion enhances the open-concept floor plan. Contemporary finishes, like the wide plank flooring, outfit the more casual office located in the pool house and complement the main home’s aesthetic.

This farmhouse style home was already lovely and inviting. We just added some finishing touches in the kitchen and expanded and enhanced the basement. In the kitchen we enlarged the center island so that it is now five-feet-wide. We rebuilt the sides, added the cross-back, “x”, design to each end and installed new fixtures. We also installed new counters and painted all the cabinetry. Already the center of the home’s everyday living and entertaining, there’s now even more space for gathering. We expanded the already finished basement to include a main room with kitchenet, a multi-purpose/guestroom with a murphy bed, full bathroom, and a home theatre. The COREtec vinyl flooring is waterproof and strong enough to take the beating of everyday use. In the main room, the ship lap walls and farmhouse lantern lighting coordinates beautifully with the vintage farmhouse tuxedo bathroom. Faced with extensive water damage to their home, the Patel’s turned to Cantoni designer Andrea Petor to infuse new life into their family’s beloved weekend retreat in Montgomery, Texas.
