Like most growing families, this client wanted to lure everyone outside. And when the family went outdoors, they were hoping to find flamboyant color, delicious fragrance, freshly grilled food, fun play-spaces, and comfy entertaining areas waiting. Privacy was an imperative. Seems basic enough. But a heap of challenges stood in the way between what they were given upon arrival and the family's ultimate dreamscape. Primary among the impediments was the fact that the house stands on a busy corner lot. Plus, the breakneck slope was definitely not playground-friendly. Fortunately, Westover Landscape Design rode to the rescue and literally leveled the playing field. Furthermore, flowing from space to space is a thoroughly enjoyable, ever-changing journey given the blossom-filled, year-around-splendiferous gardens that now hug the walkway and stretch out to the property lines. Soft evergreen hedges and billowing flowering shrubs muffle street noise, giving the garden within a sense of embrace. A fully functional (and frequently used) convenient outdoor kitchen/dining area/living room expand the house's floorplan into a relaxing, nature-infused on-site vacationland. Mission accomplished. With the addition of the stunning old-world stone fireplace and pergola, this amazing property is a welcome retreat for year round enjoyment. Mission accomplished. Designed by Interior Designer, A. Lantz Design, this Lake Charlevoix project was featured on the cover of Traditional Home magazine! Located in the lower level of the home, just steps away from the family room and rec room is this darling children's play area. The space is located in a bump out and underneatht he stairs. We looked at the space and knew exactly what we wanted to do! We partnered with a local artist to create a rustic, whimsical, camping mural in the space. We filled the space with camp-themed toys like a tent, firepit, grill & faux food, book shelf, and canoe. Adults can be enjoying the big game in the family room while children are in sight and "roasting s'mores" by the "fire".

This is an example of a large traditional back porch design in Atlanta with decking and a roof extension.

Our clients will enjoy their outdoor living space year-around. The Concrete Fire Bowl with the jade blue glass is clearly the focal point in this back yard. Notice however, the beautiful gray cement circular patio partially enclosed by buff and red strip stone seating benches. Simply elegant! Kids will enjoy playing games on the Kentucky Bluegrass mix sod. Adults will enjoy the view of the Rockies framed by a Bosnian Pine on one side of the yard and a Colorado Blue Spruce on the other. In the Spring and Summer our clients will enjoy the flowering shrubs and flowers planted near the fence line which include: Climbing Yellow Rose, Climbing Red Rose, Dwarf Tinkerbelle Pink Lilac, Karl Forester Feather Reed Grass and Yellow Ice Plant.
