We really enjoyed consulting and designing this basement project design and I’m very pleased with how it turned out! We did a complimenting color scheme between the wall and base cabinets by using a grey for the base and white for the wall. We did black handle pulls for all the cabinets to bring the two colors together. We went with a white oak style for the floor to really bring the light through the entire basement. This helps carry the light through the space which is always a good idea when you don’t have many windows to play with. We all were kids at one point a long time ago. Some of the best memories come from the playground, that is why we set out to build a play set that a whole neighborhood or large family could enjoy. Looking at this huge play set makes us want to be kids again. Available as a do-it-yourself kit or professionally installed.

This backyard is appealing to children and adults alike. Kids love the naturalized sand pit area, a rustic boulder fountain for water play, a dry creek bed with boulders for climbing, a tunnel for adventure play and a paved trike raceway leading to the playset on the other side of the yard. Grown-ups enjoy a lounging area of Bluestone at ground level, and a spacious new deck with stained cedar posts and maintenance-free Trex decking. Integrated lighting provides an elegant area for dining and entertaining day or night. Three raised planters at ground level are for raising vegetables but also double as seatwalls.

Our clients will enjoy their outdoor living space year-around. The Concrete Fire Bowl with the jade blue glass is clearly the focal point in this back yard. Notice however, the beautiful gray cement circular patio partially enclosed by buff and red strip stone seating benches. Simply elegant! Kids will enjoy playing games on the Kentucky Bluegrass mix sod. Adults will enjoy the view of the Rockies framed by a Bosnian Pine on one side of the yard and a Colorado Blue Spruce on the other. In the Spring and Summer our clients will enjoy the flowering shrubs and flowers planted near the fence line which include: Climbing Yellow Rose, Climbing Red Rose, Dwarf Tinkerbelle Pink Lilac, Karl Forester Feather Reed Grass and Yellow Ice Plant. Oasis in the Desert You can find a whole lot of fun ready for the kids in this fun contemporary play-yard in the dessert. Theme: The overall theme of the play-yard is a blend of creative and active outdoor play that blends with the contemporary styling of this beautiful home. Focus: The overall focus for the design of this amazing play-yard was to provide this family with an outdoor space that would foster an active and creative playtime for their children of various ages. The visual focus of this space is the 15-foot tree placed in the middle of the turf yard. This fantastic structure beacons the children to climb the mini stumps and enjoy the slide or swing happily from the branches all the while creating a touch of whimsical nature not typically found in the desert. Surrounding the tree the play-yard offers an array of activities for these lucky children from the chalkboard walls to create amazing pictures to the custom ball wall to practice their skills, the custom myWall system provides endless options for the kids and parents to keep the space exciting and new. Rock holds easily clip into the wall offering ever changing climbing routes, custom water toys and games can also be adapted to the wall to fit the fun of the day. Storage: The myWall system offers various storage options including shelving, closed cases or hanging baskets all of which can be moved to alternate locations on the wall as the homeowners want to customize the play-yard. Growth: The myWall system is built to grow with the users whether it is with changing taste, updating design or growing children, all the accessories can be moved or replaced while leaving the main frame in place. The materials used throughout the space were chosen for their durability and ability to withstand the harsh conditions for many years. The tree also includes 3 levels of swings offering children of varied ages the chance to swing from the branches. Safety: Safety is of critical concern with any play-yard and a space in the harsh conditions of the desert presented specific concerns which were addressed with light colored materials to reflect the sun and reduce heat buildup and stainless steel hardware was used to avoid rusting. The myWall accessories all use a locking mechanism which allows for easy adjustments but also securely locks the pieces into place once set. The flooring in the treehouse was also textured to eliminate skidding.

The Treehouse is the home I share with my daughter Miss Noa. It is our sanctuary and our refuge, our playhouse and our house of rest. It is carved out of the roof of a 100 year old craftsman home, so the spaces are all unique, and intimate, which I love. The colors I chose for the space are all slightly weathered as though they spent years in the sun. The vibe is bohemian, with all sorts of collected (Faith) and created (Noa) art. I have a passion for small spaces- they are just fun and playful, so to accentuate the element of play in the space we painted the ceiling with circus tent stripes in muted tones and turned my bedroom into a bedouin tent! The starting point for this landscape project located in Chanhassen, Minnesota was correcting the steepness of the driveway. When visiting arrived at this home they parked in front of the garage on slope that was steep, greater than 10%. Getting out of your vehicle was a choir and walk to the entrance of the home was uncomfortable. In addition, our clients children enjoyed playing basketball. So we designed a new switched back style driveway with a large auto court where guest could park comfortably and the children could enjoy a new play area. In addition to the auto court we also designed and built the front entry court with the arbor covered entry door. The entry court become a nice private sitting area where a deciduous hedge separated it from the new driveway and the street below. The new light posts matched the new lights and wall plates that we painted white to match the arbor and house trim.

Aaron and his family really enjoy playing basketball on their backyard basketball court area. The dimensions of the half court area are 28 feet wide and 36 feet deep. Their residence is located in LeMars, Iowa. This is a Pro Dunk Silver Basketball System that was purchased in May of 2010. It was installed on a 28 ft wide by a 36 ft deep playing area in LeMars, IA.
