In my first walk-through of the existing bathroom, several major issues became apparent. First, the vanity, a wooden table with two vessel sinks, did not allow access to the medicine cabinets due to its depth. Second, an oversized window installed in the shower did not provide privacy and had visible signs of rot. Third, the wallpaper by the shower was peeling and contained mold due to moisture. Finally, the hardwood flooring selected was impractical for a master bathroom. My suggestion was to incorporate timeless and classic materials that would provide longevity and create an elegant environment. I designed a standard depth custom vanity which contained plenty of storage. We chose lovely white and blue quartzite counter tops, white porcelain tile that mimic the look of Thasos marble, along with blue accents, polished chrome fixtures and coastal inspired lighting. Next, we replaced, relocated, and changed the window style and shape. We then fabricated a window frame out of the quartzite for protection which proved to give the shower a lovely focal point. Lastly, to keep with the coastal theme of the room, we installed shiplap for the walls. The homeowners now look forward to starting and ending their day in their bright and relaxing master bath. It has become a sanctuary to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Bridle Path Residence — Family Room & Media Lounge This Bridle Path Residence family room is conceived as a sophisticated yet comfortable gathering space, balancing the formality of the home's architectural language with a more relaxed approach to everyday living. The design creates a sense of quiet luxury through symmetry, tailored millwork, layered texture, and restrained glamour, rather than relying on excessive decoration. The built-in fireplace and media wall form the architectural centre of the room. Custom white cabinetry frames the television and fireplace with carefully proportioned panels, glass-front display niches, and decorative moulding. This integrated approach allows technology to become part of the architecture rather than visually dominating the room. The fireplace surround introduces a natural stone focal point beneath the television, adding subtle movement and material depth to an otherwise crisp white composition. Its placement establishes a strong central axis, while the symmetrical cabinetry on either side reinforces the room's sense of order and balance. The expansive window along the left side is equally important to the design. It floods the room with natural light and establishes a direct visual connection to the mature landscape outside. This relationship with nature softens the structured architecture and prevents the room from feeling overly formal. Two generously proportioned sofas are positioned opposite one another to create an intentional conversational arrangement. Their light upholstery keeps the room visually open, while layered cushions introduce warmer tones, pattern, and tactile contrast. The symmetry of the seating arrangement gives the space a composed architectural quality while remaining highly functional for family gatherings and entertaining. The metallic furniture introduces a subtle note of contemporary glamour. Gold-toned frames, sculptural side tables, and glass surfaces reflect light throughout the room without overwhelming the neutral palette. The combination of transparent glass and polished metal also keeps the furniture visually light against the substantial architectural detailing. A large area rug anchors the seating group and introduces an organic pattern that contrasts with the linear wall panelling and cabinetry. Right from the start, these clients had a very specific wish list: A spot for all the things! The existing Kitchen was really lacking in storage space for everyday life. There just wasn’t enough room for things like Water Bottles, Lunch Boxes, Spices, Toaster, Coffee Machine, Kitchen Aid Mixer, and Containers - which left everything feeling jam packed and chaotic. Embracing function was first priority - we looked for ways to create a hard working and streamlined Kitchen. That came to life by incorporating as many Kitchen organization accessories as possible: A Blind corner pullout, Cutlery and Utensil Organizers, Drawers galore, Pantry Rollout shelving, A Recycling station pullout, moved the Microwave to the Peninsula, and added a Beverage Fridge. One of the favourite wins was doing away with the corner sink and redesigning the Kitchen to feature the sink area centred to the Window. We also extended the usable counter space of the Island and to allow for seating for 3 at the Peninsula. To keep things light but also add some interesting layers - we used a unique geometric 3 dimensional wall tile as the backsplash across the entire length of the range wall and right into the nook area. This textured wall tile was a pivotal element for durability but also for the aesthetic - which the clients say is one of their favourite parts of the new space.
