The bright colors in this rug are grounded with soft grey sofas and a wood and steel coffee table. The coastal accessories keep the vibe fun and relaxed. With three sofas, there is plenty of room for the whole gang to hang out and share about their fun island excursions!

This is the community of Wohldorf-Ohlstedt near Hamburg, Germany. This was the first stop on our day of excursions to various green roofs in the Hamburg area for the 3rd International Green Roof Congress. It was also the most impressive (a) because of the beauty of the very natural looking roofs covered in grasses, and (b) because these roofs were constructed in the 1940′s and seem to still be functioning quite well. In fact, the town council has mandated that any renovation projects or new constructions within the original area of the neighborhood must have or maintain a green roof.

What was formerly the second bedroom, is now a dining/gathering area. The bed was raised into its locked position in the fifth-wheel and can always be lowered should the need arise for more sleeping room. In the meantime, having the table and bench seats creates the perfect space to share a meal, play a game, or plan weekend excursions. This room is now an advantage the client has over your average hotel room when it's being used as a rental on AirBnB. This is now somewhere a person can comfortably enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, or plan the next leg of their trip!

The light from South Arch side window is focused upon the North wall where there is a large granite fossil. A smaller version of these swimming creatures appears above. Next to these is a cave-like opening where a thyme plant meanders down the rock wall. Other interesting artifacts are included in the design.

Come home after your latest excursion to curl up in your own cozy bedroom. Bringing just a splash of the exotic into your home decor, this exquisite gentleman's chest is sophisticated but never boring. Functional, solid lines are graced with burnished brass nailheads and hardware as well as moulded rattan legs. A taste of the tropics is conveyed through the use of woven raffia insert panels on the top front drawers. Abundant storage can be found in the 14 small and medium-sized drawers.

Embark on an Ozarks excursion with a modest 1,300 square-foot design called The Flatlands. It’s a basic human drive to want to surround oneself with beautiful, traditional, or even timeless landscapes like those witnessed in the Ozark region of Missouri and Arkansas. Believe it or not, this secluded and remote landscape edges ever closer to easily achievable reality thanks to innovations in technology never before seen. This design features a large living space, ample master suite, and an efficient kitchen/dining arrangement with adjacent screened porch. In addition, this design incorporates a second-level loft space with clerestory views and a generous wrap-around exterior deck.

In addition, soft goods like the throw blanket and rug, plants, and also wall art bring a sense of life and color into the space. This is now somewhere a person could comfortably enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, or plan the next leg of their trip.

Saturday June 20, 10:00 to 11:30am | Manhattan
Midtown Sky Garden by Hank White, FASLA, and Aaron Booher of HMWhite
This excursion to a spectacular workplace landscape will take visitors up high above the busy streets of Manhattan. The award-winning, 6,500 square-foot terrace of the Midtown Manhattan Sky Garden takes advantage of panoramic skyline views while providing an intimate garden backdrop to the mid-century-modern building’s newly-renovated interior workspace. Richly textured and seasonally diverse plantings include a dense blanket of drought-tolerant prairie grasses, wildflower perennials, and spring flowering bulbs, punctuated by flowering Crab Apple trees. At twilight, the garden evolves into a subtle stage set of textured plantings, rustling softly against the glow of a frosted glass parapet rail—a soothing space where workers can escape the conference room or the electrifying noise of the dense urban environment. The roof garden’s biophilic design has elevated employees’ well-being, productivity, and morale. Photo copyright Amy Stroud

This dining table is one of my favorite pieces in the entire project. The dining set was purchased from Room and Board. A light blue fabric was selected for the dining chairs and stain treated to prevent stains from any accidents. The area rug has various light and dark blue threads which tie in perfectly with the adjacent living room and dining room chairs. To bring the design full-circle, we had a photo from one of the Client's excursions printed on a large canvas to act as the primary feature of the space.
