With this international project, Equine Facility Design was brought on to address site master planning and design the project development for a private equestrian training facility, focused on showjumping. The program entails a 30 stall stable, groom housing, equipment storage, hay and bedding storage facilities. The design included a 50 x 30 meter indoor arena with a viewing room, a 70 x 50 meter outdoor arena, with indoor viewing room, an outdoor multipurpose sport court arena with viewing terrace. Additional infrastructure provided for manure storage facilities, a horse exerciser, a 25 x 3 meter equine therapy/ swimming pool, and site amenities of parking and access drives, pastures, and paddocks.

On this 80 acre site, the owner is developing a private dressage facility which will include their personal residence, a caretaker's residence, a seven stall horse barn with office and support services, an outdoor full court dressage riding arena design which may be covered in the future, as well as pastures, paddocks, and parking. Equine Facility Design has done the site planning and layout and our equestrian team has created the building design for the barn and caretaker's residence, and landscaping design.

This project is a full renovation of an existing 24 stall private Arabian horse breeding facility on 11 acres that Equine Facility Design designed and completed in 1997, under the name Ahbi Acres. The 76′ x 232′ steel frame building internal layout was reworked, new finishes applied, and products installed to meet the new owner’s needs and her Icelandic horses. Design work also included additional site planning for stall runs, paddocks, pastures, an oval racetrack, and straight track; new roads and parking; and a compost facility. A hunter jumper 12 stall barn, attached 120’ x 240’ with 1,600 SF viewing room on 80 acres. The steel clear span arena structure features natural daylighting with sliding polycarbonate shutters and a ridge skylight. The wood timber trussed viewing room includes oversized rock fireplace, bar, kitchenette, balcony, and 40’ wide sliding glass doors opening to a balcony looking into the arena. Support spaces include a 240’ x 24’ shed roof storage area for hay and bedding on the backside of the arena. Work by Equine Facility Design includes complete site layout of roads, entry gate, pastures, paddocks, round pen, exerciser, and outdoor arena. Each 14’ x 14’ stall has a partially covered 14’ x 24’ sand surface run. Wood timber trusses and ridge skylights are featured throughout the barn. Equine Facility Design coordinated design of grading, utilities, site lighting, and all phases of construction.

Equine Facility Design was involved in the renovation of this existing hunter/jumper horse training facility of 45 stalls. Work included re-roofing, new concrete aisles, stall fronts, doors, windows, lighting, viewing room, a new exerciser, renovation of the parking lot with new layout and plantings, development of outdoor paddocks with all weather footing, improvements to the outdoor derby field, and landscaping throughout the property. Work continues on the renovation of interior spaces for offices, tack, rest rooms, storage, and locker rooms.

For a dedicated equestrian client, Equine Facility Design created a carefully designed a private facility on five acres of a private residential development. The project consists of a three stall stable with office, tack, feed room, wash/groom stall, hay storage, bedding storage, equipment storage, and indoor O2 Compost system, as well as an attached 82’ x 156’ indoor riding arena. Ample room for trailer loading and storage is provided near the stable entrance. The stable and arena were designed to complement the existing residence on the property, and conform with the development homeowner’s association. On this project, Equine Facility Design used the conceptual drawings created by Owen Homes to complete this 8,000 square foot 12 stall horse barn design. The project includes a 150' x 300' outdoor riding horse arena design, mechanical exerciser, and layout of paddocks on this 11 acre site.

The owner’s of this 4 acre hill site had an architect design their contemporary home and brought Equine Facility Design on board to layout fencing, paddocks, an outdoor dressage arena, and design a 3,000 sf structure that served as a barn and guest house with three stalls, wash/groom area, storage, and tack room. This property was developed as a private horse training and breeding facility. A post framed horse barn design is connected to a 70' x 146' engineered steel indoor arena created a tee shaped building. The barn has nine stalls, wash/groom stalls, office, and support spaces on the first floor and a laboratory and storage areas on the second floor. The office and laboratory have windows into the indoor horse riding arena design. The riding arena is day lit from roll-up glass garage doors, translucent panel clerestories, and a translucent panel gable end wall. Site layout; driveways; an outdoor arena; pastures; and a storage building with a manure bunker were also included in the property development.
