Each of the three paintings are on 18 inch x 24 inch x 1.5 inch museum quality gallery wrapped canvas (54 inches overall width). I used steel grey, black and white colored acrylic paint only, mixing them to achieve an elegant color and feeling. The texture is created with acrylic mediums.

Moody Expressive Abstract Art brings a calm and melancholic feeling to the modern space. Somber blues blend with off whites and black wavy line. Smooth brushstrokes contain relaxed carefree action. THEME The sheer delight of the merrygo- round — an enduring symbol of childhood — is captured in this beautiful room dedicated to the carousel. The ageless joy and beauty of a classic carousel creates a magical space where anything seems possible. FOCUS Designed for two special twins, the actual carousel in the room stands almost 14-feet tall and eight-and-a-half feet wide to hold two baby cribs. Two hand-painted carousel horses (that are also reproduced in framed photos above the changing tables) complete the authentic look. Window treatments start at the center of the carousel with fabric that arches out to each window to pull together the entire room. Custom fabrics are used throughout the space, and the entrance to the attic within the room is disguised with an oversized, vintage amusement park ticket. A television is framed on the wall with a monkey on top to ensure that even modern items have a vintage feel. STORAGE An 18-foot by 12-foot wall of letter blocks creates an abstract armoire that provides storage for clothes, toys, books and other items. The center blocks create a bench seat along the wall, while freestanding blocks within the room help add to the illusion that all of the blocks in the room are actually stacked. GROWTH The wall armoire can be easily updated to accommodate growing children by removing the letters and repainting the blocks in another style. SAFETY Everything in the room is secure, but if accidental falls or slips do occur, the floor has been custom made to be soft and safe. Twofoot square floor pads created with Medium Density Fiber board and two layers of carpet padding with fabric over top, cover the floor to create the feel of walking on pillows.

This room was done by Eugene Anthony for the "Antiques in Modern Design" project. This room is reminiscent of a 19th century Paris apartment with a modern twist. The use of the yellow wall color and the vibrant black and white patterned rug brings this room into the 21st century. Used in this room is an 18th century Italian painted and gilt wood console, possibly Roman. On top of the console are a pair of 19th century French painted finials that once adorned the top of a building. The large flower urn on a pedestal brings additional life into this room and gives it a more classic feel. The sconces offset the abstract paintings, providing a contrast between the classic and the modern. The armchair covered in a bright yellow fabric brings this chair from the 19th century to the present.

The architect and designer Guy Derwent was approached by his client with a clear and compelling brief: to completely transform a grand Victorian terrace house they were planning to renovate. The client envisioned something far beyond a standard renovation – this was to be a bold and dramatic reimagining of a family home that could grow with them over time. With the property having remained largely untouched for more than fifty years, the architects saw an opportunity to unlock its potential and deliver a contemporary design that would contrast beautifully with its Victorian heritage. The existing layout consisted of a series of small, disconnected rooms to the rear of the house. To respond to the client’s need for openness and flexibility, the architect proposed a radical restructuring of the ground floor: The rear rooms were completely removed Suspended timber floors were lowered by up to two metres to align with the garden Two bold extensions were added The first extension filled in the side return with a London stock brick facade and a glazed roof, while the second – a striking black steel and glass pavilion was glazed on three sides and placed along the garden elevation. This new pavilion redefined the building’s relationship with the garden. Its steel-framed glazing created a seamless dialogue between interior and exterior, offering a sense of immersion in the surrounding landscape. At the heart of the plan sits a dramatic, five-metre-tall dining space that acts as a transition from the original entrance hall into the new addition. A large, circular cast-glass window, framed in steel, provides a visual and spatial link between old and new, allowing light and movement to travel through the depth of the home. Throughout the project, a series of black metal elements were introduced as sculptural interventions – each marking moments of transformation within the house. These included the bespoke steel framed circular window, a custom metal staircase, a cylindrical support column, and the striking steel and glass garden pavilion. Together, they formed a coherent architectural language that underscored the project’s bold intent. Our steel windows and doors played a vital role in delivering the project’s vision. The architects chose steel for its refined sight lines and distinctive material character, which helped bridge the gap between the historical context of the building and the bold new additions. The black steel frames provided a crisp contrast to the pale London stock brick and added definition to the glazed pavilion, reinforcing the sense of architectural precision. In particular, the fine steel profiles of the garden room allowed the extension to feel both lightweight and immersive, blurring the boundary between the house and its garden. The architect drew inspiration from the Bauhaus Movement, particularly the work of Walter Gropius, whose approach to functional beauty and industrial materials informed the design of the garden pavilion. Here, our glazing system was used not just for transparency, but as an expressive architectural element. The carefully proportioned panels help to conceal the roof thickness and reinforce the pavilion’s industrial yet abstract character – a deliberate nod to product design and modernist detailing. Sustainability was an important factor in the selection of materials. Our steel systems, made from 99% recycled content and 100% recyclable, aligned with the project’s broader environmental goals. The architects noted that this commitment to material longevity and circularity was central to their decision to use steel. The durability and recyclability of the windows and doors ensured the project met both aesthetic and ethical criteria. This London terrace house now stands as a celebration of contrast – between heritage and innovation, solidity and transparency, tradition and transformation. Our steel windows and doors were not simply components; they were essential tools in crafting a home that is as bold and expressive as it is functional. The result is a home designed for modern family life, where light, space, and materiality come together in perfect harmony.

As a chic alternative to the enclosed wine room, Thies incorporates Sub-Zero wine towers from Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery into the bleached oak built-in from Ruffino Cabinetry. As a house warming gift, Potter Homes presents a solid dining table with smokey-gray epoxy that fills the natural crack in the black walnut table top for an astonishing artistic expression. This element ties into the black base and the adjacent black frames on the glass-front cabinets. Much like the elegant abstract art, the two powder blue host chairs from Century add a touch of color and a dash of class.

This bedroom has a modern and sophisticated feel. The most prominent feature is the large, plush canopy bed that takes center stage. The bed frame and headboard are dark charcoal gray, and the canopy fabric appears to be a lighter shade of gray with a subtle sheen. White bedding with a textured pattern adds a touch of contrast and luxury. Next to the bed, on the left side is a sleek, nightstand with two drawers. The nightstand matches the dark gray color of the bed frame and headboard. A white table lamp with a modern design sits on the nightstand, casting a warm glow. On the right side of the bed, there's a small chair with a light wood frame and cream-colored upholstery. A white throw blanket rests on the chair, adding a cozy touch. Behind the bed, a large abstract artwork in shades of gray, white, and black hangs on the wall. The artwork complements the color scheme of the room and adds a touch of visual interest. The flooring appears to be light-colored hardwood, which adds warmth and complements the cool tones of the furniture and artwork. Overall, this bedroom creates a serene and stylish atmosphere that is perfect for relaxation.
