Familiarity with Bosch drove the appliance selections, as the clients sought an integrated “flush” look with premium technologies such as induction, speed micro/oven cooking, and minimum noise impact. The beautiful “thermo structured surface” cabinets reflect their manufacturer’s stated Italian origins while offering a durable, high performance product.

This contemporary bathroom combines modern style & technology with a bold charge of color to create a perfect urban chic expression. I always wanted a sauna or steam shower, when I was at a spa and could use both, I found a steam shower was better for me. The basement bathroom was perfect size for a large steam shower for two. A tub/shower was removed. Cambria shower benches were the first items chosen for this bath, then I found the bubble glass tiles that blended with the Cambria and had them for the floor of the shower and accent strip on the wall and ceiling. The large white water textured tiles were a perfect fit for this multiple use shower. The ceiling was sloped for the steam water droplets to run towards the back wall and not drip on my head when steaming. The shower head has 2 purposes-fixed shower head or remove the center ring and now it’s a hand held shower head. The steam shower it’s self has aroma therapy, Chroma therapy and built in Speakers that are blue tooth to my music system. A cold water mist at the end of the steam is a good way to start the day. For a very spoiled cat-the ultimate add on was an electronic faucet in the bath sink, so the cat could have fresh water whenever he wanted, we just had to teach him to put his paw in front of the sensor.

Jarrett Design is thankful for digital preview technology. Good thing our clients were able to see what their book-matched Dekton backsplash was going to look like prior to fabrication! Some may have been a bit frightened, but these folks love the drama it creates in the otherwise serene kitchen. High gloss white upper and tall cabinetry is beautifully grounded by dark stained oak bases and island. Our clients came to us as a busy family with a toddler and an infant. Healthy food preparation for all meals is one their main priorities, so the kitchen design had to be highly functional. Work zones, storage, and seating were carefully planned. Entryway - contemporary entryway idea in Dallas

The homeowers' home is in the Napa Valley area of California where style is everything. The area has a rich history and the home has a magnificent view of Mt. Diablo. The clients wanted to upgrade from the 80s tract look to early California Colonial look. They wanted attention to detail, and they wanted an indoor and outdoor "living" home because they wanted to spend as much time outdoors as indoors. They also wanted to construct an open, outside cabana style living room with a classic fireplace. The home was completely remodeled. Every room and every surface, inside and out, to some extent, got a makeover. The existing "typical" California patio was made part of the structure with a 20x20, 400 square foot cabana style addition, with 14' ceilings under a new roof system. In an effort to bring the outside in, a two-tiered pre-cast concrete fountain was installed, providing just the right touch of ambiance. A pre-cast concrete fireplace with a double corbel Mediterranean mantle was then set and surrounded with tile. The floor was set with travertine and the walls were finished with a smooth finish plaster. To create a more formal atmosphere, the cabana patio has Mediterranean archways with fabric curtains for inclement weather. The cabana patio is divided into two separate areas, one for enjoying a meal with friends, and the other for merely sitting and enjoying the beautiful Northern California weather. Each of the areas received Mission-style chandeliers; task lighting was provided by recessed can lights. Hacienda blend cap and pan roof tiles were applied to the entire roof and then finished with a copper Conestoga chimney top. Smooth stucco was applied and painted in a Fallbrook color. A new, stamped concrete driveway accents and welcomes visitors The new front door is a custom round top plank door from Antigua Door with a round transom system, 2-1/4" thick Spanish cedar planks, round transom-lights, and a speakeasy opening with an inset diamond grill; it received a light glaze and was manually distressed. The kitchen ceiling became a vaulted ceiling. The floor was covered with travertine set in a basket weave pattern and the back splash as set with 4x4, multi-color tiles set on a center grid pattern. The cabinet carcasses were custom manufactured Cimino doors and finished with an opaque conversion varnish with a two-art glaze. Display cabinets were inset with decorative wire grilles and then finished with a custom glaze. Bourdeux granite was used on the countertops. A new Thermodor gas range was installed with a custom built plaster range hood with a Vent-a-hood liner insert. This was particularly troublesome because structural members had to be modfied to accommodate the installation. New drywall was installed with an imperfect, smooth finish. The family room also received a vaulted ceiling and ten-lite exterior, out-swing, wooden doors with a walnut finish and dark glaze. A flat screen TV was placed over the mantle with three surrounding speakers. The mantle is of hand-hewn alder, distressed, and finished with a dark glaze. The cabinetry matches that of the kitchen with Juliano upper doors, shaker lower doors with lattice inset to allow air cooling for the electronics, and a rope detail flanking either end. These were finished with a pigmented glaze. The inside fireplace mantle was constructed from a single, hand-hewn, irregular planed, 8" alder timber. The tile on the fireplace consisted of 4x8 Gamelan Border, 6x6 W.Z. Lambok, and 6x24 W.Z. Buyan in burnt umber from Walker Zanger. The entry powder room received custom cabinets with custom furniture finish of opaque conversion varnish with glaze top coats. The floor received the same tile as the kitchen. The great room has a 14' ceiling, three 5-foot by 7-foot wood outswing doors with arched tops, and the tile used was the same as that used in the kitchen. The custom front door has an arch and is made of knotty alder. The master bathroom was finished with custom furniture style cabinetry using opaque conversion varnish with glaze top coats. Countertops were Onyx. Inset into the ceiling is a custom, plaster dome with rope lighting and a central, Mission-style chandelier. The shower is appointed with travertine tile and edging, and enclosed with custom frameless glass front panels and door. Then this well-appointed room was finished with a slipper style tub. In an effort to bring sound throughout the house, an RA, wireless radio system was installed with separate controls in each room. This was an afterthought of the clients, thus the use of wireless technology. Two spaces originally dedicated to smaller bedrooms, were converted into a state-of-the-art workout room replete with mirrors surrounding the walls. And a custom office was constructed in the other. The office, build in a "L" shape received the same cabinetry with places for computer, fax, etc., as the rest of the house and the closet received custom storage units. California living at its best.

Who said that beige is boring? We think that beige is a new grey! This bathroom is the epitome of understated luxury thanks to its beautiful tiles and high quality fittings. Quarrycast material is soft to touch and has excellent insulating properties providing a comfortable bathing experience. Feature tiles with different texture surface contrast beautifully with an over the counter basin, and German engineered GROHE wall mounted tap completes the look with its sleek shape. The frameless LED backlit mirror not only injects a dose of style into the bathroom but also provides subtle illumination when needed. The Koehler wall hung toilet is cleverly concealed behind the vanity, and its smooth clean lines fit perfectly with the bathroom design. GROHE Rainshower overhead shower is a perfect choice for the high impact bathroom and provides an unbeatable showering experience with its generous 310mm shower head and DreamSpray technology.

The original idea was to update the tile floor and the tub. That’s it. A further discussion of wants and needs revealed intentions for an eventual larger shower and an improved vanity storage. It made sense to map out the possibilities and design our update with potential next steps in mind. The process was exciting, ultimately leading to the decision to do a full primary bath remodel. Design Objectives: -Maintain existing locations for all major bathroom functions -Make the shower larger and more open -Use luxurious materials throughout -Improve vanity storage and define accessories for specific items -Incorporate luxury shower fixtures -Include the latest technology Design Challenges -Enlarging the shower in a typical rectangular shape would block the view and light from the alcove windows behind the tub -Logical placement of the built-in shower caddy and all shower components in accordance with how and where they were to be used -Keeping the long, back wall free from any shower modules to maintain the decorative tile design -Combining the owner’s existing smart home system with a comprehensive shower system -Planning cabinetry for hidden storage and use for various small appliances and make-up -Integrating expensive shower wall tile with less expensive wall tile for aesthetic and budget purposes -Incorporating special design features to balance the highly decorative shower tile Design solutions: -A clipped corner was planned for the shower bench seat – this allowed for a larger glass wall. The glass wall at the angled bench also brought more natural light into the shower -Thoughtful shower space design prevented the crowding of features – the shower caddy and handheld shower head were placed on the full-height wall by the shower bench, the regular shower head and body sprays remained on the opposite wall, and the rain head was placed in the center of the shower -A multi-port DTV system was installed, providing control of all shower components, including chromotherapy and music inside and outside the shower -The lavish water-jet stone and glass decorative tile was paired with a less-expensive glass tile found in the mosaic -Pull-out grooming organizers and electrical docking stations were incorporated into the cabinetry Additional storage was created in the lower corner cabinet The homeowners are thrilled with their new primary bathroom. Clear goals and carefully evaluated materials informed a fun and functional design that is both thoughtful and sumptuous!
