Designed as a dream retirement home, this luxurious lodge melds mountainous terrain with many custom features and modern amenities. During the warmer months, the homeowners enjoy spending time on their back porch, entertaining and taking in the spectacular views. In order to combat the biting insects, allow the cool breezes to flow through their home and preserve unobstructed views, the home owners requested retractable screens to be installed on their doors, windows, and back porch. Screens of Georgia, Phantom Screens Authorized Distributor, installed Professional retractable door screens on several doorways throughout the home. Providing natural ventilation while keeping insects out of the house, the screens blend with custom doorways and retract out of sight when not in use. Based on other life priorities, not all of our work with clients happens at once. When we first met, we pulled up their carpet and installed hardy laminate flooring, along with new baseboards, interior doors and painting. A year later we cosmetically remodeled the kitchen installing new countertops, painting the cabinets and installing new fittings, hardware and a backsplash. Then a few years later the big game changer for the interior came when we updated their furnishings in the living room and family room, and remodeled their living room fireplace. To personalize the newborn's sleeping area the babies name was painted on the wall using metallic paint pens. This common detail of in a nursery could have been done with store bought wooden letters or pre-existing decal lettering. Instead, considering the position near the cityscape mural and under the starry mobile sky the lettering was custom designed and presented as if it is skywriting. Cityscape Mural Stencil- NOW available for purchased on our website for $125 Includes: Set of 12 individual paper stencil buildings. Each needs to be cut out prior to tracing on the wall. Each stencil has a dashed line to follow and basic instructions for application. You can use one or all of the buildings together to create the gray skyline you see here. We are developing a video tutorial, in the meantime we provide basic written instruction.

This remodel involved a lot of reconfiguring of the main floor. The kitchen moved to the back of the house, where it overlooks the lovely back yard, and provides more connection to the living room. The laundry, mudroom, powder room, and dining room were also relocated for a better use of the space. The driving factor of this project was the desire for the family to feel more connected to their home and to each other.
