- Purchased as a newly completed spec home built by Robert Elliott Custom Homes, the beauty of the steel windows let in an abundance of light. We chose to add personality of the family by painting numerous walls, adding layers of wallcovering in majority of the spaces, replaced light fixtures and carefully designed each room with touches of geometry to continue the classic approach.

This simple and elegant master bedroom combines modern style with touches of refined traditional elements to create the perfect contemporary retreat for these busy parents of three. Oodles of storage, bold colourful prints, paired with classic tonal whites throughout make this a beautifully functional master bedroom. The low-profile modern bedframe allows the king size bed to feel inviting, but without overpowering the space, while the large drapery panels add interest, soften the angular hard edges of remaining furniture, and provide much needed privacy from the neighbours.

India was the design inspiration for the master suite and living room in this East London House. Starting with a neutral light grey base, we added layers of pinks, yellows, oranges, teals and purples. We used 70s inspired, designer fabrics by Eley Kishimoto for the bespoke upholstery and decorated with gold framed artworks including a modern rendition of the Golden Temple in Amritsar and the OH print by renowned East London signwriter Archie Proudfoot. CLOSE-UP VIEW This master bath makeover starts with bare walls that have been floated out smooth over the sheetrock. Then we hand applied a beautiful custom tinted, soft grey Venetian plaster. After two coats of plaster, the walls were waxed and buffed. This process seals the plaster, leaving a long-lasting finish. The finished product is subtle and undeniably beautiful! I’ve included a close-up view of the finish below.
