About Us

SHOPHOUSE interior architecture + design is a nationally recognized Philadelphia based boutique design firm founded in 2011. Led by Betsy Helm, we are an experienced and detailed team of designers and doers focused on high-end residential projects serving clients along the East Coast. We specialize in comprehensive full-scale architectural interiors, and are known for our unique blend of refined yet artfully engaging interiors; always embedded with a consideration for classic architectural details. Throughout our design process, we value meaningful collaboration with revered trades, architects and builders and most importantly our clients to create classically modern interiors. Unique, inspired & delightful. We partnered with Shophouse on two office designs (Philadelphia and LA). Kiley & Betsy have a knack for nuance and they're great listeners. Shophouse took creative cues from our Philadelphia headquarters and carried the important design elements to our new LA space, while also giving our new office a bold, fresh, uniquely California vibe. I can't say enough good things about this dynamic duo, they make you want to keep thinking up design challenges so you can keep working with them.

Delivered exceptional results within the time frame and budget discussed. I have since hired them to do other smaller projects and they have not let me down! It is hard to find people that work so hard and put so much love into what they do. Their attention to detail is one of their strongest and most valuable assets, in my opinion. I just love them!
