Birchwood Construction had the pleasure of working with Jonathan Lee Architects to revitalize this beautiful waterfront cottage. Located in the historic Belvedere Club community, the home's exterior design pays homage to its original 1800s grand Southern style. To honor the iconic look of this era, Birchwood craftsmen cut and shaped custom rafter tails and an elegant, custom-made, screen door. The home is framed by a wraparound front porch providing incomparable Lake Charlevoix views. The interior is embellished with unique flat matte-finished countertops in the kitchen. The raw look complements and contrasts with the high gloss grey tile backsplash. Custom wood paneling captures the cottage feel throughout the rest of the home. Inspiration for a mid-sized victorian red two-story wood gable roof remodel in Philadelphia

This 1875 Victorian was in bad need of painting. This is the color combination chosen by the homeowner. This work was performed graphically and the client received many color combinations to decide from. This house also needs new steps, railing, and lattice. This is a graphic representation of color.

Reclaimed wood was a large part of this project. Mesquite branches form the stair railing matching the rustic feel throughout this home. Stair treads are reclaimed oak. We chose Benjamin Moore’s Aura product line for this project - it is a high performing exterior paint that has served us well in the past and we knew this home deserved only the best product we could find.

This is the color scheme the homeowner chose. A dark bold color compliments the yellow brick and the features are conservatively accented. Most go overboard here and you need to know what you can and can't accent or it will look tacky.

The original unimposing cookie cutter stairway occupied the center of the entry foyer blocking the view from the entry to the backyard. This stairway was removed, a cantilevered landing was installed on the second level and a graceful curved staircase installed. Accented with an ornamental wrought iron railing, glazed risers and hardwood treads this majestic staircase provides an open view into the beautiful backyard of this 5-acre estate.
