Inspiration can come from many things. In the case of this kitchen remodel, it’s inspiration came from the handcrafted beauty of the homeowner’s Portuguese dinnerware collection and their traditional elegant style. How do you design a kitchen that’s suited for small intimate gatherings but also can accommodate catered parties for 250 guests? A large island was designed to be perfect to cozy up to but also large enough to be cleared off and used as a large serving station. Plenty of storage wraps around the room and hides every small appliance, leaving ample spare countertop space. Large openings into the family room and solarium allow guests to easily come and go without halting traffic.

These custom garage doors are built with a steel cladding that has had a chemical patina applied. They are then sealed with a clear coating. Makes for a unique rustic garage door design.

We are proud of our unique design that allows this insect screen to be hidden in an expanded header above the carriage doors. It is remotely controlled, and can be stopped at any point. It was fabricated with an opaque section at the bottom that can be used to cover the windows for privacy when it is partially lowered. In this photo, the screen is fully extended, allowing for a view without the bugs. This innovative use of material allows the homeowner to be comfortable while enjoying a nice, sunny day.

The bathroom gives a stylish and eclectic feeling with the use of hand-crafted tiles from floor to the basin cabinet. Wood framed mirror helps to accentuate the mood of the space.

"Looking Forward" - Abstract Metal Garden Sculpture by Jon Allen This free-standing and contemporary three-dimensional metal art sculpture reaches upward, but it also looks back at the ground as it rises. This 1927 Spanish Colonial home was in dire need of an upgraded Master bathroom. We completely gut the bathroom and re-framed the floor because the house had settled over time. The client selected hand crafted 3x6 white tile and we installed them over a full mortar bed in a Subway pattern. We reused the original pedestal sink and tub, but had the tub re-glazed. The shower rod is also original, but we had it dipped in Polish Chrome. We added two wall sconces and a store bought medicine cabinet. Photos by Jessica Abler, Los Angeles, CA
