The homeowners of this Marblehead residence wished to remodel their master bathroom, which had been redone only a few years prior. The previous renovation, however, was not a pleasant experience and they were hesitant to dive-in again. After an initial conversation, the homeowners agreed to meet with me to discuss the project.
listened to their vision for the room, paid close attention to their concerns, and desire to create a tranquil environment, that would be functional and practical for their everyday lifestyle.
In my first walk-through of the existing bathroom, several major issues became apparent. First, the vanity, a wooden table with two vessel sinks, did not allow access to the medicine cabinets due to its depth. Second, an oversized window installed in the shower did not provide privacy and had visible signs of rot. Third, the wallpaper by the shower was peeling and contained mold due to moisture. Finally, the hardwood flooring selected was impractical for a master bathroom.
My suggestion was to incorporate timeless and classic materials that would provide longevity and create an elegant environment. I designed a standard depth custom vanity which contained plenty of storage. We chose lovely white and blue quartzite counter tops, white porcelain tile that mimic the look of Thasos marble, along with blue accents, polished chrome fixtures and coastal inspired lighting. Next, we replaced, relocated, and changed the window style and shape. We then fabricated a window frame out of the quartzite for protection which proved to give the shower a lovely focal point. Lastly, to keep with the coastal theme of the room, we installed shiplap for the walls.
The homeowners now look forward to starting and ending their day in their bright and relaxing master bath. It has become a sanctuary to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

A look at a custom mahogany cellar we built for a customer in Connecticut. His response:
"I found the experience of working with Wineracks.com and Mark Karpinski to be outstanding. As you can see from the photos, my wine cellar was far from standard. There are multiple unusual angles, a center island, and unusually tall ceilings.
Rather than finding these a difficulty, Mark and Wineracks.com became passionate about the space and worked diligently with me to help me get the design I envisioned and made it a reality. At times it felt that Mark was more excited about getting the project done "just right" than I was!
The measurements and layout were nearly perfect, despite the challenges of the space. In addition, Mark was in constant contact throughout the project happily offering tips and advice as we worked through the installation.
Without hesitation, I would give Wineracks.com and Mark Karpinski my highest recommendation.

A modern home that exudes warmth, gives our homeowners the comfort to ‘do’ life in their space. This professional couple with a young daughter wanted to make their newly-purchased house an expression of their contemporary style, filled with warmth and personality. They didn’t want mix-and-match big-box retailer style and they needed pieces that would hold up to their little one. That’s where Pulp comes in. Beth and Carolina created a design that pushed their style boundaries, taking them from sleek contemporary to warm and modern using pattern, textural elements, and color. Though initially hesitant, some of the items that were the biggest leap of faith (such as the lighting and drapery) have come to be the pieces they love the most. With customized cleanable and wipeable pieces, they and their young one can live life in their space without fear.

WOW! These hand blown glass sculptures are dramatic, eye-catching and really help this open space pop!

Our clients desperately needed a bigger kitchen and dining area as their home is the hub for all holiday get togethers and family dinners.
What was on the wish list?
Storage, storage, STORAGE! ☑️You got it!
Get rid of the peninsula. ☑️Check!
Black and white pleeeeease. ☑️Yes ma'am!
Separate utility area. ☑️Check!
Bigger cooking area. ☑️Double check!
We gave these fun homeowners everything on their wish list and more.
We moved the water heater out of the way by going thankless, and relocated the electrical panel so we had plenty of room to expand the kitchen.
This allowed for a beautiful island so their grandson can do homework, and eat snacks.
Now they have not one, but two pantries and a HUGE cooking area with all the black and white they can handle.
Side story, the homeowner really wanted to keep her brick wall and was hesitant to paint it. After seeing the rendering we presented her and what could come of that area, she was sold.
She now has the black and white kitchen she has always dreamed of and wished for over 20 years.
These clients give so much of themselves to our community, their family and friends and are so deserving of a beautiful home when they come home from a long day working on the front line.
Honored to work with them and may God continue to give them the strength and energy so they may continue to help others.

This is our first time decorating a house. Starting from knowing nothing at all to now having the hard decoration completed, we have experienced every emotion along the way—anxiety, doubt, tiredness, hesitation, joy, satisfaction, and touch. We learned and explored on our own, and bit by bit, we finished decorating our home. We’ve accumulated so much experience in this process, and now we want to share it, hoping it can be of a little help to all of you who are doing your own home decoration.
Preparations in Advance
1、Clarify your own ideas: Whether you are looking online, talking to designers, or copying ideas from friends' homes, you should have a clear vision of what your home should look like before designing—such as the style, color scheme, and elements to be used... It is crucial to avoid wanting to install everything that looks good in others' homes in your own. This way, you can clearly put forward your requirements during the design and decoration process, and also avoid frequent revisions to the plan, which may lead to unnecessary rework.
2、Understand your own needs: You need to first figure out the needs of your family, such as how many people live in the house permanently, how many rooms are needed, everyone's living habits, and daily preferences... A home is always for living in, so functionality is always the most important. It is best to list these needs and give priority to meeting them during the design and decoration. This way, you won't find out after decoration that many necessary things are missing, while a bunch of installed things are useless.
3、Determine your budget: There are ways to decorate with more money, and also ways to do it with less. No matter how much money you have, the decorated house can be both beautiful and practical. Therefore, it is essential to decide exactly how much you want to spend on decoration. In every link, such as designing the plan, making a budget table, selecting materials, and construction, you should act in accordance with your own budget.
4、Understand the advantages and disadvantages of your house: There is no perfect house in the world, and every house has its pros and cons. Your design plan should avoid its shortcomings and amplify its advantages. I once wrote an article about the drawbacks of my house ("My house is not perfect, but I still want to find ways to save it"), so we figured out solutions to these problems during the decoration.
5、Learn as much decoration knowledge as possible in advance: Although you can pick up this knowledge in the subsequent decoration process, it is better to learn more beforehand. This will make you much more calm when facing problems.
6、Know your strengths: Before decoration, you must be clear about what you are good at and what you are not. If you are good at design, do the design yourself; if you are skilled at bargaining, go buy building materials on your own; if you have strong hands-on ability, you can even do the decoration and repairs yourself... During the decoration process, you should focus on what you are good at, and leave what you are not good at to others.

This project involved the careful reconsideration of a traditional Victorian home to meet the contemporary living needs of a busy family. The new design included a grand foyer, integrated a mudroom, maintained sizeable formal dining and living areas, relocated the kitchen, and created a more comfortable casual eating area and adjacent family room.

Symbiotic by Jon Allen (JAC 281)
The Jon Allen Collection is an exclusive, hand-selected group of my most personal work to date. Each piece is hand-painted on aluminum. My art itself and my chosen medium, aluminum, are blissfully married. You may not think of the word organic when you hear the word metal, but this is some of my most organic art and that’s simply because metal allows my work to achieve true sentience. Aluminum’s naturally reflective nature enables each color, shape, and stroke to reach its full potential. A new aspect of the painting will reveal itself to you as it basks in the light that surrounds, evades, or envelops it in that moment. When you see the piece from different angles, you will appreciate how vibrant, dynamic, and environmentally influenced these pieces are. What you may see and feel by morning is not what you’ll see or feel by dusk and in many ways, and as such I feel these pieces capture the ever-ebbing and complex nature of human emotion and perception.
Some of these pieces are truly abstract while others are modern takes on traditional landscapes, marine life, and portraits. I hope you enjoy them a fraction of how much I enjoyed creating them. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Number of Pieces: 1
Dimensions: 48" x 48" x 2" off the wall
Care & Cleaning: Clean with a soft cloth and plain soap & water
Other Features: Hardware is pre-installed for simple hanging and art will “float” 2” off the wall

Not a day goes by that we do not recognize the quality of the workmanship in this house. After almost two years, we are still discovering small details in our home that show how much care and consideration went into the renovation. We couldn’t be happier here. All the choices, from materials to layout to design, were absolutely perfect. And not only is the house of incredible quality, but any questions or issues we had were immediately dealt with, long after the point of sale. We wouldn’t hesitate to buy another home from Cafasso Designs. Indeed, it would add considerable peace of mind. The clear theme of their work is craftsmanship and quality.
