We created this stunning moody library lounge inspired by the client's love of British Cigar Rooms. We used pattern, texture and moody hues to bring out the feel of the library and used the gorgeous Tom Dixon lamp, Restoration Hardware contemporary writing desk, client's gorgeous folk indian painting, and custom cabinetry to give the library/study a very modern yet classical feel!

Warm and inviting this new construction home, by New Orleans Architect Al Jones, and interior design by Bradshaw Designs, lives as if it's been there for decades. Charming details provide a rich patina. The old Chicago brick walls, the white slurried brick walls, old ceiling beams, and deep green paint colors, all add up to a house filled with comfort and charm for this dear family. Inspiration for a huge modern freestanding desk concrete floor home office library remodel with gray walls, a two-sided fireplace and a concrete fireplace

This beautiful study was part of a whole house design and renovation by Haven Design and Construction. For this room, our objective was to create a feminine and sophisticated study for our client. She requested a design that was unique and fresh, but still warm and inviting. We wallpapered the back of the bookcases in an eye catching metallic vine pattern to add a feminine touch. Then, we selected a deep gray tone from the wallpaper and painted the bookcases and wainscoting in this striking color. We replaced the carpet with a light wood flooring that compliments the gray woodwork. Our client preferred a petite desk, just large enough for paying bills or working on her laptop, so our first furniture selection was a lovely black desk with feminine curved detailing and delicate star hardware. The room still needed a focal point, so we selected a striking lucite and gold chandelier to set the tone. The design was completed by a pair of gray velvet guest chairs. The gold twig pattern on the back of the chairs compliments the metallic wallpaper pattern perfectly. Finally the room was carefully detailed with unique accessories and custom bound books to fill the bookcases.

Inspiration for a timeless home office remodel in Denver

The master suite includes a private library freshly paneled in crotch mahogany. Heavy draperies are 19th-century French tapestry panels. The formal fringed sofa is Stark's Old World line and is upholstered in Stark fabric. The desk, purchased at auction, is chinoiserie on buried walnut.

This room really speaks about the family and their devotion for books. This is quite the collection! And that light fixture! It's an amazing piece of art and works perfectly for this space. I see some classic novels in the mix; the Hardy Boys in the bottom left and I am sure there is some Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter series in the mix. Some board games on the bottom shelves as well. Nothing better than seeing a full home library such as this, well in my mind at least! What do you think of the light fixture?

The library serves as a great transition space between the living room and the master suite. As avid readers it was important to provide space for our clients large book collection. We also provided for a reading, as well as, work space within the office. Hiding behind the gray doors is a "back office" area which provides for more cabinetry, printers, work surfaces, and storage. Now, Utah is often described as having that “Old World” look. A two-tone effect and a bit of oil on the surface gives these aniline hides charm and character. A clear water based top coat is applied at the end of the tanning process for a soft, smooth feel and a bit of added durability and stain protection.
