A large table is always great for hosting guests. This room is light and open creating a very spacious feel, with a pop of charcoal gray on the china cabinet drawing your eye to the statement piece.

Our client wanted to update not only their dining room but also their furniture. To add richness and color we upholstered the wooden backs of the chairs in a medallion pattern and the host chairs were done in a rich, patterned velvet. Elegant draperies framed the corner windows and the beautiful view. While updating the area rug and chandelier added new freshness and elegance. A large server was introduced to complement the existing pieces and add additional storage for dishes and trays. Above this piece we put a large ornate mirror to reflect the beautiful chandelier and drapery treatments. Across from the dining room is a pair of French doors with leaded glass details just off the front door. Framing these doors were beautiful drapery treatments to compliment the dining room and a large hall table with decorative mirror. Crystal ceiling mount lighting created an elegant ambiance leading you into the family room and kitchen.

Reverse Shed Eichler
This project is part tear-down, part remodel. The original L-shaped plan allowed the living/ dining/ kitchen wing to be completely re-built while retaining the shell of the bedroom wing virtually intact. The rebuilt entertainment wing was enlarged 50% and covered with a low-slope reverse-shed roof sloping from eleven to thirteen feet. The shed roof floats on a continuous glass clerestory with eight foot transom. Cantilevered steel frames support wood roof beams with eaves of up to ten feet. An interior glass clerestory separates the kitchen and livingroom for sound control. A wall-to-wall skylight illuminates the north wall of the kitchen/family room. New additions at the back of the house add several “sliding” wall planes, where interior walls continue past full-height windows to the exterior, complimenting the typical Eichler indoor-outdoor ceiling and floor planes. The existing bedroom wing has been re-configured on the interior, changing three small bedrooms into two larger ones, and adding a guest suite in part of the original garage. A previous den addition provided the perfect spot for a large master ensuite bath and walk-in closet. Natural materials predominate, with fir ceilings, limestone veneer fireplace walls, anigre veneer cabinets, fir sliding windows and interior doors, bamboo floors, and concrete patios and walks. The home owner’s of this 90’s home came to us looking for an updated kitchen design and furniture for the family room, living room, dining room and study. What they got was an overall tweaking of the entire first floor. Small changes to the architecture and trim details made a large impact on the overall feel of the individual spaces in an open floorplan space. We then layered on all new lighting, wall and window treatments, furniture, accessories and art to create a warm and beautiful home for a young, growing family.Photos by Tom Grimes

Contemporary. Expansive. Multi-functional. An extensive kitchen renovation was needed to modernize an original design from 1993. Our gut remodel established a seamless new floor plan with two large islands. We lined the perimeter with ample storage and carefully layered creative lighting throughout the space. Contrasting white and walnut cabinets and an oversized copper hood, paired beautifully with a herringbone backsplash and custom live-edge table.

Sometimes it really is all in the details... and the storage! By gutting this small NYC bath back to its stub walls and all walls back to the underlying cinder block exterior wall we were not only able to expand the space by a few precious inches that make all the difference, but we were also able to create a beautiful shower storage solution in stunning Statuary honed marble.

Our daily routine begins and ends in the closet, so we believe it should be a place of peace, organization and beauty. When it comes to the custom design of one of the most personal rooms in your home, we want to transform your closet and make space for everything. With an inspired closet design you are able to easily find what you need, take charge of your morning routine, and discover a feeling of harmony to carry you throughout your day.
