Housed atop a sand dune overlooking a crescent shaped beach, this updated innovative shingle style home replaced an existing vacation home our clients purchased a number of years ago. Significantly upgrading what was previously there, the single characteristic they wanted to maintain was a curved glass element that made the home distinctly identifiable from the beach. The height of the dune is unique for the area and well above flood plane which permits living space on all three levels of the home. Choreographed to fit within the natural landscape, guests entering the home from the front porch are immediately greeted with stunning views of the ocean. Delicate wood paneling and textural details are illuminated by abundant natural light flooding the home. The labor pains were memorable but what a beautiful baby.... We removed a defunct chimney from the Range alcove to allow this improved and highly functional layout. There were also three separate ceilings (including framing) that got removed. This allowed us to raise the center section to its full 10' height and incorporate a second band of two-part crown molding. More on the reclaimed wood to follow...

Most trees have leaves that will change colours every time the seasons change. This means that you may see changes three to four times a year depending on where you live. This is a natural part of their growth and hibernation process. However, if you see these colours in the offseason, it may be a sign that there is a problem. If your trees have yellow leaves in the summer, it is a sign that it is suffering from disease, or having a problem with its growth cycle. If soil testing shows low levels of nutrients, it is a good idea to schedule a deep root fertilization treatment to adjust the levels. In many instances, correcting the soil will help you save the tree. Insect or Pest Infestation Yellow summer leaves are also a sign that a tree has been infested with pests. Some pest is only active in the summer.
