For this home in Chatham, NJ we built a raised bluestone patio complete with outdoor kitchen, bar, gas fireplace and pergola. For the kitchen area, we incorporated a built in trash can, grill and refrigerator. We used quartz for the counter tops in the kitchen space and on the bar. The fireplace was custom made and includes a keyed gas starter that can be turned off once the wood logs have caught fire. Throughout the patio you will see 2" bluestone caps to all columns, fireplace sides and sitting wall tops. By using a stacked cultured stone on all structures, we were able to achieve the continuity desired throughout the living space. The bluestone was grouted with a white cement mix to deliver a crisp and clean finished look. The pergola was custom made from the ground up. We chose red cedar for our wood due to it's superior weather resistant properties and meticulously prepped it for paint. The finished product was second to none.
