Bellingham Bay BuildersAfter many years of careful consideration and planning, these clients came to us with the goal of restoring this home’s original Victorian charm while also increasing its livability and efficiency. From preserving the original built-in cabinetry and fir flooring, to adding a new dormer for the contemporary master bathroom, careful measures were taken to strike this balance between historic preservation and modern upgrading. Behind the home’s new exterior claddings, meticulously designed to preserve its Victorian aesthetic, the shell was air sealed and fitted with a vented rainscreen to increase energy efficiency and durability. With careful attention paid to the relationship between natural light and finished surfaces, the once dark kitchen was re-imagined into a cheerful space that welcomes morning conversation shared over pots of coffee.
Every inch of this historical home was thoughtfully considered, prompting countless shared discussions between the home owners and ourselves. The stunning result is a testament to their clear vision and the collaborative nature of this project.

San Luis Kitchen Co.Using European construction cabinetry for increased usable interior space, we gave this small kitchen a true beachy feel with white cabinets, blue/green Corian counters and fun red accents. There are corner swing-out shelves, a pull-out trash cabinet and lots of drawers.

If the kitchen space was a blank slate - how could it be designed to function best for the owners? Asking this question at the beginning and collaboration with the owner and designer that desired a beautiful end product was what contributed to the success of this project. We began with a center island cooktop that "cramped" the room for preparing meals and a relatively small refrigerator space. For an owner that loves to cook and entertain, we needed to increase the available space for cooking and food storage. In the end, we relocated the gas range to the side wall along with increasing the island size to allow room for meal preparation along with bar style seating for loved ones to "watch and test taste" while keeping good conversation close by the cook in action. We also were able to accommodate the owner's desire to increase the refrigerator/ freezer space without losing cabinet storage. Installing floor to ceiling cabinetry with accessory lighting gives this space the sense that good design and quality craftsmanship are necessary ingredients for another successful project by Spencer's Contracting.
Richard McPherson Landscape ArchitectureThis design was developed to increase the indoor/outdoor flow by the creation of a deck at the same level of the kitchen for easy access for BBQ'ing and dining. A spacious stairway was added to connect to the conversation, lawn and spa areas. Ornamental meadow grasses were used for a more rustic, low maintenance and drought tolerant garden area.

Distinctive Kitchens At the Galer Street Kitchen, our goal was to freshen up the space, create clever storage solutions, and create flow between the kitchen to an adjacent family room. We also wanted to infuse the space with light and make the space a little more contemporary, while keeping the kitchen classic and timeless.
We chose a gray and white palette with brass hardware and gray accented lighting. And we created a small peninsula for casual dining and conversation during parties. We went with glass cabinets near the window to increase the airy feel on that side of the galley kitchen.

Our customer’s dream was to transform their undersized, traditional bathroom into a luxurious and spacious master bathroom, and at the same time, increase their closet space by converting an extra bedroom into a massive walk-in closet in their master bedroom.
