This project is here to show us all how amazing a galley kitchen can be. Art de Vivre translates to "the art of living", the knowledge of how to enjoy life. If their choice of materials is any indication, these clients really do know how to enjoy life!
This kitchen has a very "classic vintage" feel, from warm wood countertops and brass latches to the beautiful blooming wallpaper and blue cabinetry in the butler pantry.

This home had a kitchen that wasn’t meeting the family’s needs, nor did it fit with the coastal Mediterranean theme throughout the rest of the house. The goals for this remodel were to create more storage space and add natural light. The biggest item on the wish list was a larger kitchen island that could fit a family of four. They also wished for the backyard to transform from an unsightly mess that the clients rarely used to a beautiful oasis with function and style.
One design challenge was incorporating the client’s desire for a white kitchen with the warm tones of the travertine flooring. The rich walnut tone in the island cabinetry helped to tie in the tile flooring. This added contrast, warmth, and cohesiveness to the overall design and complemented the transitional coastal theme in the adjacent spaces. Rooms alight with sunshine, sheathed in soft, watery hues are indicative of coastal decorating. A few essential style elements will conjure the coastal look with its casual beach attitude and renewing seaside energy, even if the shoreline is only in your mind's eye.
By adding two new windows, all-white cabinets, and light quartzite countertops, the kitchen is now open and bright. Brass accents on the hood, cabinet hardware and pendant lighting added warmth to the design. Blue accent rugs and chairs complete the vision, complementing the subtle grey ceramic backsplash and coastal blues in the living and dining rooms. Finally, the added sliding doors lead to the best part of the home: the dreamy outdoor oasis!
Every day is a vacation in this Mediterranean-style backyard paradise. The outdoor living space emphasizes the natural beauty of the surrounding area while offering all of the advantages and comfort of indoor amenities.
The swimming pool received a significant makeover that turned this backyard space into one that the whole family will enjoy. JRP changed out the stones and tiles, bringing a new life to it. The overall look of the backyard went from hazardous to harmonious. After finishing the pool, a custom gazebo was built for the perfect spot to relax day or night.
It’s an entertainer’s dream to have a gorgeous pool and an outdoor kitchen. This kitchen includes stainless-steel appliances, a custom beverage fridge, and a wood-burning fireplace. Whether you want to entertain or relax with a good book, this coastal Mediterranean-style outdoor living remodel has you covered.

This is our new, industrial style vanity base! The vanity base is constructed from solid steel and the doors have been treated with a chemical patina to give the piece a charming weathered, distressed appearance. It is handmade by us and can be customized in nearly any way imaginable. However, this listing is for one with overall dimensions of 61” W x 18.5” D x 31″ high. This piece is made without the marble top and we encourage our customers to source their own. This vanity base could also be built with a reclaimed wood top and sides if you prefer. We have built this one with four doors, but it could be made with more or less and with any patina or finish you see on any of our other pieces. We also often build these with drawers (inquire for details and pricing.).
As shown, it is intended to have two vessel style sinks that would sit on top. For those using it in this configuration, your plumber would simply need to drill holes in the top. Or, if you’d like the cabinet to be taller for use with under mount sinks, let us know your exact specifications and we’d be happy to price it (including cutting out the holes for the sinks).
This addition to your bathroom or powder room incorporates two distinct styles without either stealing the show. This piece of furniture could also be used as a buffet for the centerpiece of your next party, an eye-catching media console or aquarium stand. This truly unique and one of a kind piece could be customized in nearly any configuration you can imagine to suit the décor of your home. Be sure to contact us with any changes you desire to completely make it your own piece of *living furniture.
Price (without marble top): $1,550.00.
Please inquire for pricing on any changes you would like.

* Note: In humid environments, the steel finish can change a little over time. We do put a sealer on it, but over time it may still change slightly.

The image showcases a sleek and modern kitchen island setup. The island features a white marble countertop with subtle gray veining, providing a clean and elegant surface. Above the island, two large black pendant lights with a conical shape hang from the ceiling, adding a bold contrast to the light color scheme. The island is adorned with a textured white vase filled with green foliage, bringing a natural touch to the space, alongside a wooden bowl containing green artichokes. In the background, light wooden cabinets with black handles line the kitchen, complementing the island's design. A black backsplash and a gold faucet add sophistication, while a stovetop and white pots are visible, indicating a functional cooking area. Three black bar stools with woven seats are positioned at the island, creating a cozy spot for casual dining or gathering. The overall aesthetic is contemporary, with a warm and inviting feel.

"Transitional" -- what exactly does this term mean? Especially, when describing interior design. Transitional style design, usually means that you have characteristics of both modern and traditional in your space. You kind of fall in that even middle ground between both styles.
For this dining room, our client was just that. However, she wasn't aware of it. She was trying to pair multiple traditional elements together, but it left her feeling unhappy. The space was feeling dark, filled with heavy furniture and nothing was popping or even uplifting. She knew she liked to mix patterns and textures, but was also unsure of how to achieve that.
As I looked around her home, I realized that their art collection definitely leaned more on the modern and colorful side of the spectrum. This was a big indicator to me, she wasn't fully traditional at all, she was more transitional! That was my que, and we got to work and this is the result.

Christmas holiday design for an amazing animal conservation ranch in Texas. Our goal was to deliver a holiday scheme indicative of rustic Texas. For year 2012 our look was to design with a color palette of forest green, rust, brown, cream and gold pulling from the use of natural elements, often found on the ranch, such as pheasant and ostrich feathers, deer sheds, lichen covered branches, beautiful vintage fowl and small critter taxidermy, massive pine comes, silver birch branches etc.. mixed with vintage wood skis, copper bladed ice skates, rustic lanterns, etc..

Transitional Architectural Theatre Lighting & Interior Design
This Batman themed theater was not part of the original theater plans. I was hired by the owners to do lighting design for their new construction home. In my first preliminary lighting plan presentation the husband expressed his passion for a Batman themed theater and showed me an image of a Batman themed theater he liked. Which he followed up to say it was out of his budget.
I was hired for lighting design. What the owners did not know was that I have an interior design degree. I asked what amount he was willing to spend for a Batman themed theatre. I knew I could design the theatre for a quarter of the cost of the theatre he had shown me. I felt comfortable saying I could design lighting and interiors for the theatre within their budget.
I proceeded with bringing in my team of artists to review the images of his Batman comic magazine collection that had to be in the theater: Batcave, Wayne Manor, Lincoln Penney, Bat phone and the Joker.
As the images indicate, we succeeded in designing and installing the Batman themed theatre to meet the client's criteria.
At the owner’s request: Linear LEDs lit the Batcave faux wall murals of stone and Wayne Manor aged wood columns, custom crystal wall sconces, and a library with a life size Batman costume hidden behind a false bookcase. A false wooden window with a Gotham City Mural of the Bat signal were revealed by using ultraviolet black lights.
It was a fun project but could not have been accomplished without a team of excellent artists, building contractors, A.V. control company, millwork fabricators and electricians.

Christmas holiday design for an amazing exotic animal conservation ranch in Texas. Our goal was to deliver a holiday scheme indicative of rustic Texas. For year 2013 our look was to design with a color palette of red, green, tan and gold pulling from the use of natural elements, often found on the ranch, such as pheasant and ostrich feathers, deer sheds, lichen covered branches, beautiful vintage fowl and small critter taxidermy, massive pine comes, silver birch branches, natural nests, etc.. mixed with vintage wood skis, copper bladed ice skates, rustic lanterns with battery operated candles on remote, etc.. mixed with layers of printed burlap and crystal velvet brocade ribbon, beads, burnished gold glass ornaments, red velvet poinsettias, etc..

When we first saw this 1850's farmhouse, the porch was dangerously fragile and falling apart. It had an unstable foundation; rotting columns, handrails, and stairs; and the ceiling had a sag in it, indicating a potential structural problem. The homeowner's goal was to create a usable outdoor living space, while maintaining and respecting the architectural integrity of the home.
We began by shoring up the porch roof structure so we could completely deconstruct the porch itself and what was left of its foundation. From the ground up, we rebuilt the whole structure, reusing as much of the original materials and millwork as possible. Because many of the 170-year-old decorative profiles aren't readily available today, our team of carpenters custom milled the majority of the new corbels, dentil molding, posts, and balusters. The porch was finished with some new lighting, composite decking, and a tongue-and-groove ceiling.
The end result is a charming outdoor space for the homeowners to welcome guests, and enjoy the views of the old growth trees surrounding the home.

Architecturally inspired, the Axis collection gives a nod to its Mid-century Modern and Art Deco design roots.
