Example of a large transitional master white tile and porcelain tile ceramic tile freestanding bathtub design in Vancouver with a vessel sink, shaker cabinets, white cabinets, quartzite countertops, a one-piece toilet and gray walls

This little guest bath uses the unique shape in a way that is both beautiful and efficient. The elegant curve of the stunning mirror nestles the sconces perfectly. The glass surround and white subway tile make the bathroom feel more expansive than the small footprint indicates.

Our Senergy360 technicians use professional-grade electromagnetic field (EMF) testing equipment to detect and measure sources of electromagnetic radiation in your home. The sleek handheld meter features a digital display showing precise EMF readings in milligauss (mG) and a color-coded indicator system for easy interpretation. Its ergonomic design includes an extending probe for reaching tight spaces and testing specific areas of concern.
The device captures both AC and DC magnetic fields, electric fields, and radio frequency radiation, providing comprehensive electromagnetic exposure data. With calibrated sensors and advanced filtering technology, our equipment delivers accurate measurements that help identify potential EMF hotspots from sources like electrical panels, smart meters, WiFi routers, and household appliances.
This professional testing equipment allows our certified inspectors to create detailed EMF exposure maps of your living spaces and recommend evidence-based solutions for reducing electromagnetic radiation levels in your home.

"Transitional" -- what exactly does this term mean? Especially, when describing interior design. Transitional style design, usually means that you have characteristics of both modern and traditional in your space. You kind of fall in that even middle ground between both styles.
For this dining room, our client was just that. However, she wasn't aware of it. She was trying to pair multiple traditional elements together, but it left her feeling unhappy. The space was feeling dark, filled with heavy furniture and nothing was popping or even uplifting. She knew she liked to mix patterns and textures, but was also unsure of how to achieve that.
As I looked around her home, I realized that their art collection definitely leaned more on the modern and colorful side of the spectrum. This was a big indicator to me, she wasn't fully traditional at all, she was more transitional! That was my que, and we got to work and this is the result.

Custom closet with two built in dressers, long hanging, double short hanging, tilt out hamper, and jewelry drawer. All drawers are dovetailed front and back. All drawers area traditional picture frame fronts, and inset design. We removed and reinstalled all base moulding to produce a finished look that would indicate they were built in with the home's original construction. All drawer slides are soft close.

Small Detail — Big Difference…The existing home is a traditional tutor cottage style. The original dark stained wood trim is stunning and in excellent shape. The foyer tended to be dark and a solid wood door leading to the Powder room at the end of the hall gave no indication that there was a connection to the rear yard. By reducing the oversized sized powder room replacing the window at the end of the hall with a door onto the deck, light now flows from the front of the home to the back. The existing door to the deck was in the kitchen where the new sub zero refrigerator stands.

The classic Blue with Relief Map MOVA Globe details the unique features of our planet Earth to provide both compelling knowledge and compelling design. A palette of dark green and brown colors highlights the diverse landscapes covering Earth’s landmasses while a gradient of blue shades and directional arrows indicates changes in elevation and the flow of ocean currents. The bones of this 1908 Glen Park home had been compromised by years and years of awkward remodels. The front door led directly to the private bedroom level, while the public gathering spaces were one-level down, with the main staircase nearly dropping you into the existing kitchen. Potentially spectacular views of an existing mature redwood tree and broad city views beyond were entirely ignored and inaccessible.
We first unraveled the knot of the plan with a new split-level entryway and connecting stair. We then opened up the rear of the home to the views, using the huge backyard conifer as design inspiration for a perforated steel guardrail connecting the new interior and exterior space seamlessly. A lower expansion connects the home to the yard and alleyway garage entry.
The Pinales House is indicative of the scale of remodel many young families can consider; a scale at which strategic design choices are key to discovering the unrealized potential of the home and site.

This Classic Quarry large Horizon Falls wall fountain will instantly become the crowning jewel of any room you put it in, whether it's in your home or office. The calming effect of this sight and sound cannot be overstated.
The Rajah Slate Slabs are the perfect combination of weathered watercolors; adobe brown, muted maroon, sandy orange, ochre and grey. Located in the Houston Heights, the Waverly Residence is a modern home on an established street of two story homes boasting front porch typologies. The family’s desire for privacy resulted in a porch that rotates to internalize most of its function while still addressing the street. For this active family, yard activity and it’s visibility from within the home emerged as a priority for approaching the building’s relationship to the lot. Justifying the building mass to the Northern half of the site reinforces the scale of the design to the surrounding buildings and creates a large southern yard dedicated to play and brisket (is a Texas house a house without a barbeque?).
The ground floor is clad in metal panel and a wood rainscreen that peels away from the structure to become both a fence and an entry threshold, blending the registration between the yard's privacy enclosure and the building skin. Variable width fiber-cement siding clads the second floor as a nod to the neighborhood vernacular. The pool and outdoor kitchen sit at the center of the yard, forming an island that divides the open play from private vehicular access at the alley.
Shifted volumes delineate private space from the open public areas. The second floor extends over the public entryway to create a covered procession with cascading steps into the southern yard that traverses the length of the living spaces. The public program expands beyond the building enclosure to encompass the yard and living spaces. A horizontal shift in the ground floor volume produces both a private courtyard away from the lively public spaces and exterior delineation between private vehicular access and public entry.
Within the open, ground floor plan, a change in elevation indicates the boundary between private and public space. Custom millwork provides ample storage for the young family. Playful patterns of enclosed storage with contrasting display boxes creates a cohesive millwork language throughout the home.

Carving Kids I Oak plank in 3-layer construction, bevelled on the long side and with approx. 4 mm top layer, with approx. 4 mm backing in the same wood and middle layer conifer. Tongue and groove on all sides for easy installation. Cracks, branch knots and splay knots are highlighted with black putty. Colour variations and some sapwood are possible. Small open cracks and unsealed spots in the millimetre range are allowed. The graphic design is split across 3 floor planks and is repeated several times lengthwise. The planks are numbered on the head end of the groove (1/3, 2/3, 3/3). In order to avoid joins in the same position, there are indicators where to cut and these are marked with CUT along the groove.

Christmas holiday design for an amazing animal conservation ranch in Texas. Our goal was to deliver a holiday scheme indicative of rustic Texas. For year 2012 our look was to design with a color palette of forest green, rust, brown, cream and gold pulling from the use of natural elements, often found on the ranch, such as pheasant and ostrich feathers, deer sheds, lichen covered branches, beautiful vintage fowl and small critter taxidermy, massive pine comes, silver birch branches etc.. mixed with vintage wood skis, copper bladed ice skates, rustic lanterns, etc..

Our clients loved this tree-lined older, established neighborhood. They bought a house there that needed substantial renovations as it probably had not been updated in 30-40 years. They contacted Shapiro & Co in hopes that they would be able to transition an older, outdated house to a home that retained its character but was redesigned to meet the current needs of the family. The house foyer was very small and not accomodating for visitors so the architects relocated the entry and added a welcoming front porch. After an assessment of the existing conditions, it was determined that the kitchen, while serving its purpose in the 1940s, was completely out of character and in the wrong location for a modern family's needs. So the architects relocated and created an entirely new kitchen, and family and dining spaces. As indicative of homes in the ’40s and '50s, the master bedroom and bathroom were very small and not meeting current needs. Therefore we repurposed one bedroom into the master bath and dressing area and reorganized and enlarged the master bedroom area. The original second-floor plan was very small and confining. We captured some attic space and were able to create two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a central common room for the children. By a sensitive assessment of the client’s needs and while maintaining the charm of the home, we were able to completely renovate and enlarge the house while keeping it in context with the beautiful neighborhood.
