Crafted from Walnut that came from a tree on their own land, the table preserves a meaningful piece of their property and gives it new life as a gathering place their family can enjoy for generations. The natural live edges were preserved to celebrate the organic shape and character of the tree, while the rich tones and distinctive grain of the Walnut remain the focal point throughout the design. An all-wood base with substantial Walnut legs continues that character from the tabletop to the floor, creating a cohesive, rustic look without introducing contrasting materials. Beyond its beauty, this custom dining table represents what makes handcrafted furniture so personal. This custom Cherry executive desk was designed for a client in Brighton, Michigan, who had been searching for the right desk for their home office but simply couldn’t find what they needed anywhere else. Crafted from solid USA-sourced Cherry hardwood, the desk was custom dyed and stained to complement the existing finishes in the room, creating a warm, cohesive addition to the space. Functionality was built directly into the design. Grommets integrated into the desktop route cords to a hidden cable management shelf inside the desk, allowing everything to connect discreetly to an electrical outlet located in the floor below. The result is a clean, uncluttered workspace without sacrificing everyday convenience. The substantial waterfall-style sides and clean lines give the desk a refined executive presence while allowing the natural character of the Cherry to remain the focus. This project is exactly why we build custom furniture: when the right piece doesn’t exist, we create it around your space, your needs, and the way you want to use it. When our client approached Decor Aid about redesigning her home in Montclair, New Jersey, the first space she wanted to tackle was the home office. As a businesswoman, our client desired the flexibility to work from home, and wanted to remain productive during the rest of the redesign process. But she also wanted to carve out a bit of space for herself within a busy household, and to have a space that felt reflective of her precise aesthetic. Our client’s well-defined sense of style is bright, fresh, preppy, and modern, which conflicted with the sensibility of her former home office. The entire space needed to be redesigned, starting with the dark, wooded walls. We re-lacquered the walls with a sky blue color, for a brighter, airier feel. Once the walls were finished, bold furniture pieces were added, to complement our client’s distinctive style. The pattern used for the custom window treatments matches the two chair pillows, both of which contrast against the solid colors elsewhere in the room. A tall mirror, with a chrome frame, gives the space a larger feel. We reupholstered the chairs with a contrast piping, and the side table was given a custom pink finish. But it was the fine details and final additions that transformed this home office into a truly individualized space. The Lulu DK Print on the wall, and a few pieces on the bookshelf, gave the space a more personalized feel. The final touch was the Jonathan Adler light fixture, which complimented the modern vibe in this home office, while incorporating our client’s distinctive style.

Our customer was renovating her mid-century modern home and wanted to bring the interior up to date. With a clean and sleek interior, we collectively decided on our custom Herringbone door model. This door model is completely flush, with two diagonal grain directions. The rich Walnut finish pops against the clean white walls and existing décor. This door line can be modified and customized to any dimension and configuration necessary. Traditional swing doors are the main style seen throughout the home, with the exception of a couple pocket doors, double doors and even a bifold door unit.
