Dark Emperador marble, as the name suggests, is a dark brown colored marble with white, crossed veins. Its origins stems from Spain, mainly quarried in the towns of Yecla, Jumilla and Caudete, and are seen as Spanish natural stone. Its dark base color gets beautifully broken by the white irregular veins. It demands a high market demand throughout the world. It is specifically used in interior design with moderate use as a floor tile. It can be combined with lighter stones with amazing effects. It creates a very warm look. Ensure however, to break the darkness with light colored walls for instance. Dark Emperador floor tiles comes in various finishes where polished and honed are most common.
Dark Emperador mosaic tiles is commonly used in conjunction with a lighter mosaic tile like Carrara to create a shape or pattern which stands out against the lighter tiles. If you want a wall to really tell a story, this tile will tell that story. Commonly in honeycomb sheets or as individual tiles, you can get really creative here. It can be then deduced that this is a strong, durable tile. Also, Dark Emperador is available in various edges, including but not limited to straight and beveled.

INSPIRED KITCHEN DESIGNEven more fantastic is the storage that was built into her kitchen, Ann says.
For instance, a sole IKEA LEHRYTTAN cabinet is featured above the countertops at the elbow of the L-shaped layout and ample base cabinetry along the same perimeter on either side of the Viking dishwasher and range.
On the opposite side of the range is a large and tall pantry featuring IKEA LEHRYTTAN cabinets as well. The floor-to-ceiling pantry is ideal for food storage and is conveniently situated near the dining table.
“I have so much drawer space and tall pantries with pullouts. I did not need a lot of wall-mounted cabinets. In fact, I only have one for glasses. I keep all my dishes in drawers below the countertop,” she says.
She concludes: “I love the black cabinetry. I never would’ve picked black if I had gone with custom or had painted the original cabinetry. I chose the IKEA LEHRYTTAN because it’s one of the only styles that have a wood grain look to it. They make such a statement and are not dark or overwhelming. They are actually quite friendly and welcoming!”
Ann notes that originally she felt that the IKEA kitchen island was too close to the refrigerator. But she also wanted to expand the existing footprint to incorporate a big island for eating.
“I realized I could live with people’s backs being close to the refrigerator door when it was opened,” she adds.
The island – which serves as a true centerpiece of the space – also features the IKEA LEHRYTTAN cabinetry and is complemented by IKEA white quartz countertops.
The island not only provides an eating area for three, it also has an electrical outlet to plug in appliances for Ann or her family to use for food prep.
In fact, this leaves ample space for a proper work triangle and traffic flow.

Nar Design GroupThis mid-century modern kitchen was developed with the original architectural elements of its mid-century shell at the heart of its design. Throughout the space, the kitchen’s repetition of alternating dark walnut and light wood uses in the cabinetry and framework reflect the contrast of the dark wooden beams running along the white ceiling. The playful use of two tones intentionally develops unified work zones using all modern day elements and conveniences. For instance, the 5’ galley workstation stands apart with grain-matched walnut cabinetry and stone wrap detail for a furniture-like feeling. The mid-century architecture continued to be an emphasis through design details such as a flush venting system within a drywall structure that conscientiously disappears into the ceiling affording the existing post-and-beams structures and clerestory windows to stand in the forefront.
Along with celebrating the characteristic of the mid-century home the clients wanted to bring the outdoors in. We chose to emphasis the view even more by incorporating a large window centered over the galley kitchen sink. The final result produced a translucent wall that provokes a dialog between the outdoor elements and the natural color tones and materials used throughout the kitchen. While the natural light and views are visible because of the spacious windows, the contemporary kitchens clean geometric lines emphasize the newly introduced natural materials and further integrate the outdoors within the space.
The clients desired to have a designated area for hot drinks such as coffee and tea. To create a station that could house all the small appliances & accessories and was easily accessible we incorporated two aluminum tambours together with integrated power lift doors. One tambour acting as the hot drink station and the other acting as an appliance garage. Overall, this minimalistic kitchen is nothing short of functionality and mid-century character.

Regan Baker Design Inc.First home, savvy art owners, decided to hire RBD to design their recently purchased two story, four bedroom, midcentury Diamond Heights home to merge their new parenthood and love for entertaining lifestyles. Hired two months prior to the arrival of their baby boy, RBD was successful in installing the nursery just in time. The home required little architectural spatial reconfiguration given the previous owner was an architect, allowing RBD to focus mainly on furniture, fixtures and accessories while updating only a few finishes. New paint grade paneling added a needed midcentury texture to the entry, while an existing site for sore eyes radiator, received a new walnut cover creating a built-in mid-century custom headboard for the guest room, perfect for large art and plant decoration. RBD successfully paired furniture and art selections to connect the existing material finishes by keeping fabrics neutral and complimentary to the existing finishes. The backyard, an SF rare oasis, showcases a hanging chair and custom outdoor floor cushions for easy lounging, while a stylish midcentury heated bench allows easy outdoor entertaining in the SF climate.
