While the exterior of the home boasts 196 feet of water front property, along with a dock where friends and family gather to board the pontoon (a/k/a “cocktail cruiser!”) to get out on the lake, it is the interior of the residence that truly intoxicates the senses.

The fresh minty-sage fragrance of Salvia clevelandii is every bit as intoxicating as it's lavender blooms.

For those who prefer light-colored floors but do not wish for the consequent atmospheric coolness, Margot is the perfect solution: a light-colored floor that radiates an aura of warmth. In contrast to Sanzio and Burano, smooth and sophisticated Margot pursues a sense of unity, blurring the lines between floor planksboards. With its mellow texture and pleasantly bright ambience, Margot emanates an intoxicating impression of serene bliss.

The mix of Hummingbird Sage and Island Buckwheat bordering the bioswale predictably draws pollinators. Intoxicating for humans, the fragrance of Hummingbird Sage keeps hummingbirds dancing! When its blooms fade, the seed heads continue to serve as a birdfeeder, while its sun-or-shade, evergreen foliage helps retain slopes.

The "ribbon of boulders”, which is reminiscent of nature and its flowing form, defines the upper and lower tiers of this transformative landscape. The boulder ribbon creates the impression of an unending journey, thus forging a sense of continuity. Colorful perennials bloom throughout the season, attracting a symphony of pollinators and creating an intoxicating scent. In the backyard, this overgrown and unappreciated lovely stone house was barely visible through the brambles. It now features prominently and provides context for the bluestone fire pit seating area. Repeating the bluestone journey, the front walkways reinforce the emotional response of curves used thoughtfully throughout the landscape. A circle of bluestone, within a circle, within a circle was crafted in the driveway turn around to showcase a seasonal planter that welcomes you home.

It’s hard not to crush on Brooklyn-based fibers fine artist Liz Collins’ work. She uniquely recreates her experience of the world as a place of stupendous wonder and cosmic energy with vivid palettes, dynamic patterning and intoxicating wit. Inspired by stills from the edgy 1982 cult classic film Liquid Sky—which zeroes in on the subculture of downtown New York’s club scene in the early New Wave era—Permanent Sunset creatively captures the pleasure centers of our brains as they played a prominent part in the film’s story and art direction. Offered in a range from far out to more calming magic-hour hues, this hand-screened print allowed us to further flex our color capabilities with transparent inks and duo chrome powders to create colorways that are truly dynamic and full of depth. It’s pure alternate dimension eye candy.
