The Themar Series is a rectified glazed porcelain. Digital print technology creates some of the same characteristics as some of the most sought-after natural stones, including marble. Because this material is a porcelain product, maintenance risks involved with actual stone are eliminated.

The kitchen was phase two for this cottage rental. We were involved from the concept right through the renovation, building of cabinets and full execution of the plan. The concept for the whole house which was built in the 1800s was to freshen it up with a nod to Scandi style which to me is clean, white with minimal adornment but lots of wood warmth. We went with a Shaker style cabinet, simple design and minimal uppers.

This is a 1943 traditional Cape Cod Revival, one bed and one bath home in need of complete renovation and updating. The project involved re-designing the layout, adding a second floor where there had previously been none, and replacing all utilities. In addition all major components required replacement ( i.e roof, windows).
We were able to keep the original brick exterior and simply tweak the color scheme a bit to make it stand out.

The project was a complete rear renovation involving a new swimming pool, patio areas, fireplace, outdoor kitchen, deck renovation, and surrounding landscape, and lighting.
The site was very challenging due to very steep slopes and a limited amount of land area to accomplish the overall goals of the project. Those were lawn areas for the kids to play as well as patio space for entertainment and a swimming pool. Due to county requirements, multiple infiltration trenches were needed to accommodate the Chesapeake Bay ordinances.

This second-story addition to an already 'picture perfect' Naples home presented many challenges. The main tension between adding the many 'must haves' the client wanted on their second floor, but at the same time not overwhelming the first floor. Working with David Benner of Safety Harbor Builders was key in the design and construction process – keeping the critical aesthetic elements in check. The owners were very 'detail oriented' and actively involved throughout the process. The result was adding 924 sq ft to the 1,600 sq ft home, with the addition of a large Bonus/Game Room, Guest Suite, 1-1/2 Baths and Laundry. But most importantly — the second floor is in complete harmony with the first, it looks as it was always meant to be that way.

We love the contrast that these black quartz countertops create with the white farmhouse sink and cabinets, and blue and white back splash tile. The tile from Pratt & Larson was custom made for this kitchen. The client wanted something unique and traditional, but with a contemporary twist.

Closeup of the Western Red Cedar Perfection shingles installed for this wood roof replacement on this historic North Branford farmhouse. Built in 1815, this project involved removing three layers of shingles to reveal a shiplap roof deck. We Installed Ice and Water barrier at the edges and ridge and around chimneys (which we also replaced - see that project here on Houzz). All valleys and chimney/vent protrusions were flashed with copper, in keeping with the traditional look of the period.

This open concept kitchen by Thompson Remodeling involved removing walls to allow open flow from the kitchen into the living and dining rooms. The star of this kitchen is the expansive island, anchored by gorgeous columns with features that include plenty of work space, built-in bookshelves, and seating for three. Perimeter cabinets are maple with a caramel, chocolate glaze finish and the island cabinetry is alder with chestnut finish. Other design details include quartz countertops and ceramic tile flooring and backsplash.

Landscape by Stonepocket located in Minnetonka, Minnesota Creating a elegant landscape to blend with a home with such character and charm was a challenge in controlled resistant. Did not want the landscape to overwhelm the home, nor did I want a typical landscape for this style that usually involves a box hedge. Utilizing light in the front to create a perennial garden give the home a sense of place. Keep the planting mostly to whites and greens in the back unifies the space.
