This wet bar is part of a big, multi-room project for a family of four that also included a new mudroom and a primary bath remodel.
The existing family/playroom was more playroom than family room. The addition of a wet bar/beverage station would make the area more enjoyable for adults as well as kids.
Design Objectives
-Cold Storage for craft beers and kids drinks
-Stay with a more masculine style
-Display area for stemware and other collectibles
Design Challenge
-Provide enough cold refrigeration for a wide range of drinks while also having plenty of storage
THE RENEWED SPACE
By incorporating three floating shelves the homeowners are able to display all of their stemware and other misc. items. Anything they don’t want on display can be hidden below in the base cabinet roll-outs.
This is a nice addition to the space that adults and kids can enjoy at the same time. The undercounter refrigeration is efficient and practical – saving everyone a trip to the kitchen when in need of refreshment, while also freeing up plenty of space in the kitchen fridge!

When Joe Germann founded Motorhead Extraordinaire in 2005, his shop was your typical motorhead shop – lots of hand-me-downs, "way too many" piles of junk, and always too much work going on. Joe used the shop for full frame-up restorations that involved engine work, body work, painting, etc. – your typical hard-core home based restoration shop.
The shop was a 24' x 32' building with a cathedral ceiling and was carved up into two car bays (one with a lift), and a bay for the workshop area. The office was located in a spare room in the house, only big enough for one person to work in at a time. Typical of 15 year old shops, it had a collection of everything in every corner – "your basic junk shop."
Joe knew he needed a shop and home office to better meet his needs and to be a reflection of his business philosophies. His goals were simple:
1. Upgrade the workshop to the 21st century and make it more efficient for the space he had and the type of work he likes to do in there
2. Add a new office to run the business out of
3. Make it an enjoyable place to hang out to swill a few beers and smoke a few good cigars!
Mission accomplished.
Joe added a 12' x 22' office addition and remodeled the existing garage/workshop area. (Trying to simultaneously work on restorations – a '71 Corvette and a Raven – as well as doing engine work on his Wild Child drag car was a challenge, to say the least.) Both the new shop and office are fully furnished with a host of Lista storage and workspace products.
“ The Lista workspaces are simply awesome and work out so well for us. ”
Joe raves, "The Lista workspaces are simply awesome and work out so well for us. The desks are at a 35-1/2" workbench height so they are comfortable to use either standing up or sitting down in a Lista work chair. My workspace uses a Nexus frame system with 16" overhead cabinets and a large double hinged door storage cabinet with roll-out trays, which we use to store product catalogs and other heavy stacks of literature. In my wife Isabelle's work area, we used 12' of standard overhead cabinets fastened directly to the wall and a large 12' long double workspace. She has two heavy-duty Lista file cabinets, and believe me they are loaded up and work flawlessly!"
Joe is a big fan of Lista products, which he sells through his business. "Well-thought-out is an understatement. Lista workspace solutions are among the most functional, highest quality, and best value available today. There is nothing as sturdy and long lasting as Lista workspace products."

Architectural details of this stunning home include a metal roof, a timber frame entry, stone work on the walk-out basement, and a two-story wrap-around deck in the back. Chris commented, "It's worth noting that in the Deltec build process there are many, many to-do items that even a completely unskilled homeowner can do: things like nailing strapping, caulking/spray-foaming joints, nailing down housewrap take many hours of unskilled labor."

Smaller spaces can still be efficient. A good design makes the closet feel bigger than it is. An in-drawer jewelry tray keeps important items close at hand.

This kitchen renovation was a LONG time coming! Having worked on other projects in advance of this one, made doing the kitchen not only more fun, but also a bit more efficient!
Lots of projects start with an inspiration item and this one was no exception. Our first field trip was a visit to a tile store where my client saw THE tile from across the room and it was love - and a final decision - at a first sight. It made the rest of the kitchen come together pretty quickly!

Perched on top of Elk Mountain, this mountain modern home offers breathtaking views of Asheville’s skyline. We had the opportunity to furnish this project. Message us with questions about any of the items.

Rich and sophisticated are just a few words that easily describe this master bath. The Deep Aegean blue finish grounds the space with a sense of luxury, while the clean lines of the Edgemont recessed door style maintain a timeless, transitional appeal. The vanity area is enhanced with shelf valance lighting and a plush seating nook where a Custom Vanity Pull-Out provides convenient access to everyday items within arm’s reach, and roll-out storage drawers below keep fresh towels close at hand. Crown molding along the top and bottom of the cabinetry provides an elegant finishing touch, while toekick lighting creates ambiance and ease to see at night. Paired with the adjoining shower and tub clad in dark, textural tile, the design strikes a perfect balance between bold character and practical everyday usability, transforming the bathroom into a calming yet highly efficient retreat.

Caring for aging parents is both a joy and a challenge. The clients wanted to create a more aging-in-place friendly basement area for their mother. The existing kitchenette was more of a glorified bar and did not give her the option of cooking independently, and definitely not stylishly.
We re-configured the area so it was all open, with full kitchen capabilities. All appliances were selected to cater to the mother's limited reach, so all functional storage and product usage can be done without raising arms excessively.
Special storage solutions include a peg-system for a dish drawer, tiered silverware trays, a slide-up appliance garage, and pivoting pantry storage.
The cabinets also give ample display space for her collection of antique glassware.
In lieu of an island, we created a solid-surface top for a standard table so food can be prepped while sitting and without damaging the table top.
All items reflect the mother's tastes and existing furniture so she can truly feel like this basement is her space, while still being close to her son and daughter-in-law.

Functionality and style added to this compact laundry room by stacking laundry pair; adding deep drawers for laundry products; and creating a folding surface. Fun stripe pattern provided a bit of whimsy, while wall-mounted drying racks were installed for items that need to hang dry.

This Lake Nokomis kitchen remodel blends fresh color with timeless materials to create a space that feels both inviting and highly functional. Soft green cabinetry sets the tone, paired with warm brass hardware and crisp quartz countertops for a balanced, elevated look. A farmhouse apron-front sink sits beneath the window, bringing natural light into the workspace while reinforcing the kitchen’s classic character.
The backsplash features handmade-style ceramic tile in a subtle checkerboard pattern, adding texture and depth without overwhelming the design. Open wood shelving flanks a custom hood, introducing warmth and providing easy access to everyday items.
Function was a key priority throughout the space. Custom cabinetry includes integrated pull-outs, deep drawers, and dedicated storage solutions that maximize efficiency while maintaining clean lines. A spacious peninsula creates a natural connection to the adjoining dining area, where bold botanical wallpaper and large windows bring energy and light into the overall design.
The result is a kitchen that feels grounded, fresh, and thoughtfully tailored to the way the homeowners live.

This well-designed mudroom combines functionality and pet care, making it a perfect space to handle everyday tasks while keeping your home clean and tidy. There's dedicated dog washing station, making it easy to keep your furry friend clean and fresh. The built-in dog bowls provide a convenient and designated spot for their food and water, ensuring their needs are met. Alongside the dog-centric features, you'll find a laundry area, allowing you to tackle dirty clothes and linens efficiently. Additional cabinets offer plenty of storage space to keep cleaning supplies, pet essentials, and other items neatly stowed away.

The client had a deep pantry closet which made it difficult to see what was in the back. In order to decide on what custom pullout drawer depths they wanted, they took everything out of their existing pantry and measured the items they wanted to group together, for instance, canned cat food, stacked two deep. Or in another high back pull out, oils and vinegars. Then they selected the depth drawers they wanted, and we custom-ordered drawers to the width of the pantry and the depth. So now everything is in its place and everything has its place. They especially love the wide custom spice drawer as they can fit 40+ spices in there.
Now their pantry is uniquely suited to their needs and is also much more efficient in its use of space both vertically and depth-wise.

We re-arranged the kitchen layout, making the range the focal point of the main wall and centering the sink on a new, smaller window. The refrigerator is flanked by dual pantry cabinets for convenience. New built-in cabinetry beside the built-in bench seating is perfect for the homeowner’s collection of cookbooks and provides the additional counterspace needed. Efficiency and utility were top priorities, so the new cabinets included many specialty items such as a mixer lift, tray dividers, blind corner organizer, and pull-out shelves. The new hardwood flooring was installed flush with the existing hardwoods in the home for a seamless flow from room to room.
