The open cherry shelving with metal brackets gives the kitchen character, adds an airiness to the space, and allows the homeowners to display dishes and decor. It is a rustic/farmhouse detail among the refined selections. Photo Credit - David Bader

Dining room - transitional dining room idea in Boston

This is the element that started it all. The first time the client walked into Kitchen and Bath Design Studio, she described her vision of the perfect backsplash. “You mean like this?” the designer said, pulling out a sample material and laying it on the counter. That was the moment the client knew she’d found the perfect designer. The client never wavered in her vision; the same Lunada Bay iridescent glass tile graces her Farmhouse Chic kitchen today. You just can’t beat love at first sight. Indeed, this “love affair” is one for the history books—it was the first time that Wilmington, NC’s largest production builder had ever worked with a kitchen designer! Chris Davis Photography

Kitchen - contemporary kitchen idea in San Francisco

Tucked away in the backwoods of Torch Lake, this home marries “rustic” with the sleek elegance of modern. The combination of wood, stone and metal textures embrace the charm of a classic farmhouse. Although this is not your average farmhouse. The home is outfitted with a high performing system that seamlessly works with the design and architecture. The tall ceilings and windows allow ample natural light into the main room. Spire Integrated Systems installed Lutron QS Wireless motorized shades paired with Hartmann & Forbes windowcovers to offer privacy and block harsh light. The custom 18′ windowcover’s woven natural fabric complements the organic esthetics of the room. The shades are artfully concealed in the millwork when not in use. Spire installed B&W in-ceiling speakers and Sonance invisible in-wall speakers to deliver ambient music that emanates throughout the space with no visual footprint. Spire also installed a Sonance Landscape Audio System so the homeowner can enjoy music outside. Each system is easily controlled using Savant. Spire personalized the settings to the homeowner’s preference making controlling the home efficient and convenient.

Full extension pull-out shelves with concealed hardware can hold heavy cookware. This is one example of true custom cabinetry. The client envisioned this without having seen it, drew it out and described it to us, and we built and installed this for her. Heather Harris Photography, LLC
