The stunning lighting pieces in the dining room are creations by John Richards. This particular chandelier was the inspiration for the lighting that would similarly flow throughout the 6,000 square foot home. In this space, the ceilings provided so much volume that it not only was able to accommodate a lighting piece of this stature, but required it. A partial remodel of a Marin ranch home, this residence was designed to highlight the incredible views outside its walls. The husband, an avid chef, requested the kitchen be a joyful space that supported his love of cooking. High ceilings, an open floor plan, and new hardware create a warm, comfortable atmosphere. With the concept that “less is more,” we focused on the orientation of each room and the introduction of clean-lined furnishings to highlight the view rather than the decor, while statement lighting, pillows, and textures added a punch to each space.

Inspired by the laid-back California lifestyle, the Baylin’s many windows fill the house upstairs and down with a welcoming light that lends it a casual-contemporary feel. Of course, there’s nothing casual about the detailed craftsmanship or state-of-the-art technologies and appliances that make this a Cannon classic. A customized one-floor option is available.
