As the first new home constructed on Lake of the Isles, Minneapolis in over 50 years, this contemporary custom home stands as the “Gateway” to the historic parkway that encircles the lake. The clean lines and Bauhaus feel bring an architectural style that previously didn’t exist in this truly eclectic neighborhood. Interior spaces and finishes were inspired by local art museums, combining high-end materials into simple forms. This 2011 Parade of Homes Remodelers Showcase home features mahogany cabinetry, cumaru wood and slate floors, and concrete counter tops.

This Austin 'man cave' required a unique installation where the door did not intrude into the living area. The door follows the roof line to create maximum space, air and light into the room, allowing the owner to entertain friends and family with ease. For this unique installation, we used a LIftMaster operator mount to secure the track to the ceiling. This bracket was customized to match the hardware of the overhead full-view garage door, as well as the homeowner's chandelier.
The door was custom-built and expertly installed by Cedar Park Overhead Doors, which has been serving the greater Austin area for more than 30 years. Photo credit: Jenn Leaver

Detail-oriented cable management. This basement telephone jack is mounted to a wall with an open backside (into the workshop area). The extra cable that is normally left in the wall to future-proof connections is neatly coiled and placed in a manner to minimize unsightliness.
Project background: A whole-home re-wire. DemNET Technologies was brought in to remove and recycle old, outdated wiring, and re-wire this home with modern, high speed cable. DemNET also installed a structured wiring center and telecom rack, ran new wires to the outdoor service boxes, installed a HDTV antenna in the attic, and installed 7.1 surround sound in the family room, with a Zone 2 setup in the basement.
