To create some height in the otherwise flat garden, native Redbud trees were planted at the center of each square, and small step-stones were laid for easier access to care for the plantings within the boxwood-hedged flower beds. The pattern of the step-stones helped to reinforce the idea of quilted patches stitched into old-fashioned quilts.

This project took place in Greensboro and this is the view from the front porch of the home. The area is vast so only a portion of the thirteen led landscape lighting fixtures are seen in the photo. These are Clarolux Landscape Lighting fixtures with Brilliance LED Lighting bulbs. These fixtures were placed on two dimmer switches and use only 143 watts! These fixtures were set to operate automatically on a dusk-to-dawn schedule. The image shows the dimmer switches at their brightest level.
