An existing mow curb served as inspiration for this winding gravel path that connects to new decomposed granite paths. Existing soil was excavated to create dry creek beds, and reused to mound up these berms. This creates a new level of dimension and layering throughout the landscape.

In close collaboration with Darrell Epp, Architect, CYAN Horticulture was invited to maximize use of the very limited space surrounding this newly renovated single-family residence. Perched atop a 75-feet forested ravine and overlooking a protected salmon stream, this low-lying house seems to be floating in the wilderness. On the more exposed side, sunny and connecting to the street, the distinctive silhouette of gingkos and squared-off beeches, mounding lavenders and graphic maiden grasses, play against expanses of raw concrete and accents of reclaimed, century-old barn wood. On the sheltered side, shady and sloping down to the stream, a variety of dark green foliages merge into the surroundings.

A wall of mixed and repurposed materials provides seating near a play area designed for imagination and appreciation of and interaction with nature.

Front yard landscape remodel. We removed the existing sidewalk from the entry and installed a paver sidewalk to match the paver driveway. We extended it to the street between 2 pillars for a more grand entrance. The rock was removed and replaced with synthetic grass, mounding, and desert plants. The yard took on a completely new look and fit much nicer in this Chandler custom home neighborhood.

Multiple features are on display here including the Fire Pit, Flagstone pathway, raised soil mounds that show off a group of 3 Palm trees, a small natural stone fountain, existing Redwood tree grove and the edge of a comfy patio and natural wood pergola.
