The objective for this design was to create non-traditional artwork to serve as a striking focal point for this master bath. After much brainstorming, this designer started a search for some type of platter, bowl or plate that could be framed as a set. Crate & Barrel’s Suki bowls, although matte black on the outside, gleamed with a beautiful gold finish from the interior which sparked an instant flash of creativity within this designer! The next step involved having a woodworker make a simple oak frame, after which the bowls went from centerpiece to high end art. The homeowner absolutely loved the results and guests comment on the beautiful art and guests are astonished to learn they were made with repurposed materials!

Just enough elbow room so that the kids truly have their own space to spread out and study. We didn't have an inkling about Covid-19 when we were planning this space, but WOW...what a life-saver it has been in times of quarantine, distance learning, and beyond! Mixing budget items (i.e.Ikea) with custom details can often be a great use of resources when configuring a space - not everything has to be "designer label" to look good and function well.

Believe it or not, this space is the same that you saw a picture of earlier in this project. Post insulation, vapor barrier, refrigeration unit and wine rack installation, the California wine cellar design is nothing short of stunning. In this photo, you can see the display row running the entire length of the racking. There are individual bottle openings at the top and bottom sections. They are intended for 750ml bottles. Other bottle orientations incorporated into the design of this wine cellar are diamond bins and label forward display racks.
