Michael wanted new furnishings and accessories to redesign his master bedroom to reflect his personal style. A lover of walnut, he had selected a gorgeous modern bed and needed to fill the space with furnishings and décor to complement it. He loved warm, rustic organic elements and also had an affinity for giraffes!
Walnut nightstands and a live edge walnut console table were selected to coordinate with the beautiful headboard. A reading corner was created with a rustic chair, leather ottoman, pharmacy floor lamp and a wall tapestry for added textures. The handmade modern walnut-framed mirror was showcased in the other corner above greenery to bring the outside in. The oversized wall clock plays off of the circular mirror and fills the wall beautifully as a striking piece of art. And of course, the room wouldn’t be complete without the 6-foot-tall wooden giraffe to greet him every day!

Drawing from the blue tones in the family’s heirloom tapestry, we chose Blue China by Valspar for the walls of this transitional living room. It ties the room together while evoking the feeling of antique shopping in New York City and admiring the Chinese porcelain that you find there. Vintage décor, a pair of custom-made traditional-style ottomans, and intricate patterned curtains are another nod to this history, while built-in bookshelves, a simple and refined fireplace, and the sleek frame of a chandelier offer modern touches that take this space from traditional to transitional.

Living Area
These homeowners did a great job of furnishing their Eastwood Patio Home. However, there were a few areas that they felt “needed something.” We came in and added lots of fabric, texture and pattern to warm up the spaces. In their formal Sitting Area, we added this large ottoman in a rich merlot leather to anchor the space. We did not want to distract from the incredible view so we added cornice boxes to the top of the windows. The tapestry fabric ties in all of the colors in the upholstery and rug.
Sunroom
The Sunroom is open to the other living areas so we needed to keep our color scheme flowing; however, we decided to go with a less formal fabric for these cornice boards. It is a fun plaid that coordinates with the tapestry fabric in the other spaces. Plaids are a great pattern to use when you have multiple colors you are trying to tie together.
Basement Bar
The homeowners wanted the back of their Basement Bar to stand out and had even painted the wall an accent color. Adding the ledge stone was the perfect solution. It adds some much wonderful texture to the space. We also added cushions to their banquette area which makes that wonderful nook so inviting!
Basement Bathroom
The homeowners liked the idea of wallpaper in this spacious bathroom – Yea! – so we added a subtle plaid paper in a neutral color to add depth and pattern to the walls. It works great with the tile and existing artwork.
Adding pattern, texture and fabric provided tons of interest and warmth to the wonderful Eastwood Patio Home. Enjoy!

This newly built Old Mission style home gave little in concessions in regards to historical accuracies. To create a usable space for the family, Obelisk Home provided finish work and furnishings but in needed to keep with the feeling of the home. The coffee tables bunched together allow flexibility and hard surfaces for the girls to play games on. New paint in historical sage, window treatments in crushed velvet with hand-forged rods, leather swivel chairs to allow “bird watching” and conversation, clean lined sofa, rug and classic carved chairs in a heavy tapestry to bring out the love of the American Indian style and tradition.
