This couple moved from Chicago’s Wicker Park to a rural setting but wanted to maintain their modern aesthetic. Scott Dresner of Dresner Design created a modern spa oasis for the couple’s master bathroom. The second project completed by Scott in the couple’s home. On the client’s, wish list…a luxurious space to relax, a new window to replace the dated looking glass block, great storage for towels and larger items as well as smaller toiletries. Scott accomplished a variety of storage with deep vanity drawers with push hardware, medicine cabinets with storage on the entire wall, and a large linen closet. Finishes are modern with a hint of warmth created by the floating walnut vanity and trim work. LED light along the vanity and medicine cabinets create a soft ambience perfect for a relaxing bath. Reveal projects an indirect glow onto ceilings and floors to deliver flush mount cove and toe-kick lighting. This 24VDC linear LED system features a shallow .5 inch deep plaster-in aluminum extrusion no thicker than drywall that houses a single row of high CRI, commercial grade white LED Soft Strip. System mounts directly to studs without joist modification and plasters into .5 inch or thicker drywall. Reveal is sold in 1 foot 2.5 watt increments up to 40 feet and may be field-cut. Inspiration for a contemporary bathroom remodel in Dallas

This custom lighted panel brings together the client’s love of eye-catching light fixtures, captivating artwork, and modern sophistication with a bit of edge to create a dramatic focal point for the Master Bedroom. This designer created the pattern for this laser cut wood panel, slightly evocative of an Asian floral motif, which was inspired by the client’s cultural heritage. A pop-out wall and niche were purposefully created and positioned directly above the crisp headboard. Mock-ups ensured the depth of the niche would accommodate the panel support, as well as space to allow the LED light source to bounce off the strips of aluminum at the side walls. A small border frames the decorative panel, which allows the support and strips of LED tape lighting to be subtly concealed while still casting a strong glow into the center of the panel. The result is a stunning feature of light and art.

This Master Suite continues to merge outside and inside: honed granite counter top, rustic alder shaker cabinets, and floor to ceiling tile (in 4 different widths) that look like wood, vaulted ceiling with stained wood beam at the peak, faucets that mimic an old well pump. Dark slate tile on the heated floors has an additional stained coat on the grout to appear like a continuous slab of stone. Utilizing a hidden linear floor drain allows the floor tile to visually continue into the shower area . The large shower has niches concealed in half walls to keep toiletries out of sight.

This customer used Ultra Bright Warm White Flexible strips and hardwired her system to utilize a wall dimmer. The simple kitchen design is perfectly accented with the under cabinet LED lighting.
