After decades of drastic alterations, and demolition of the second and third story, this grand estate was reduced to a pink Bermuda style ranch house. The current owners returned it to a suggestion of its original state. Beamed ceilings, working fireplace, period woodwork and historic finishes draw out the dignity of its past, and make them part of life in his century. The main house overlooks terraced yards, stonewalls and a landscaped pool area. The formal interiors frame sweeping views of treetops and seascapes. Photo shows the interior three art windows in the Japanese Tea House . All our art glass designs are copyrighted and come with a book detailing the metaphysical meanings. They are signed and the pattern is never repeated. The Tokonoma has two slender art glass windows on either side and is made of an exotic wood as is the alter base. The entire interior is designed with a specific number of wood types. Photo credits: Dan Drobnick

These homeowner's were ready for a complete overhaul of the existing kitchen in their mid-century home. Storage, flow, and space (in general) were all in very short supply. The wall to the dining room was removed, windows altered, and a completely reimagined layout came to life! This new space is both functional AND beautiful beyond words.

When you remodel any room in your home, you also alter the way it’s used. If you renovate an old study and make it into a family living space, you may find yourself using that room more often. If you remodel your kitchen, you may find cooking a lot easier and more fun. Using your home to its fullest ability will expand other areas of your life as well and you’re likely to feel more comfortable entertaining guests or relaxing quietly in the new space.

4. Rhythm isn’t just for the dance floor. In design-speak, the term is defined as continuity or organized movement. This is where your creativity comes to life as you use colors, patterns and textures to create contrast, repetition and progression. For instance, creating a monochromatic color palette in mixed patterns will create liveliness in your space without looking too busy.
