A linear lighting plan, custom storage feature, and mylar-backed wallpapers gave dimension and personality. The owners desired a renovation that was both transitional and classical. They chose Rutt Ruskin cabinetry with walnut drawers for their modest galley-style kitchen layout. The space was equipped with Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove appliances, along with every pullout and rollout imaginable. Featuring a classic Rutt Ruskin hood and Blum Servo-Drive lifts on the doors, this project lacked nothing. The ceiling was opened up to create a spacious dining area and a functional mudroom, complete with a mirror and a well-stocked bar for unwinding after a long day.

The dance studio at my Waters Edge Project has a full sprung wooden dance floor. Two walls are fully mirrored with the one long wall fitted with ballet barres. The ceiling had to be at such a height that one can do a high ballet lift comfortably. We installed roller blinds as well that can cover the mirrors for when my client wishes to do still photography shoots in this space. The dance studio is fully kitted out with audiovisual equipment for taking videos, editing and sound for choreography. Lighting had to be carefully selected so as not to have any dark spots when photographing or taking a video of a dance routine.

Closed storage cabinets are the perfect solution for plumbing or electrical supplies, small items or liquid containers. Keeping hazardous paints, solvents or power tools out of sight also makes them less tempting to young children.
