I live for moments of grace, such as classical music, beautiful china, fine art, and textiles. This home is a testament of this philosophy, with an eclectic mix of the fine and the understated. Next to a work of irreplaceable fine art is hung a tapestry from Turkey, purchased in a market for pennies. On display, collections of fine Herend china and exquisite Limoges boxes sit alongside some of HomeGoods’ best ceramic offerings. In this home, I’m inspired by textiles and fabrics, different dimensions, mixes of color, history, and artistic focal points; but most of all I am inspired by the intangible feeling of a piece. Inspiration for a contemporary white tile and subway tile slate floor bathroom remodel in Chicago with dark wood cabinets, multicolored walls, wood countertops, flat-panel cabinets, a two-piece toilet and a vessel sink

This was a rustic walnut kitchen we built for Jessen Construction. The Island is painted a custom blue grey color that the homeowner chose. The island top is walnut. The range is by Lacanche. The photograph is by Tim Murphy Photography.

Nestled in the surrounding hillside of Telluride Ski Resort, this mountain home was born from the idea of integrating a home in to it’s site and having it interact with the natural vegetation and impressive circling views. This did not come without design challenges, but the result was a rustic modern structure clad in steel, glass, wood, and stone. Floor to ceiling glass walls lend to breathtaking views of Mount Emma, Dallas, and Iron Mountain. Transparency through the structure was very important to the clients as it allowed them to feel apart of the natural environment. You can see through the formal entry through the great room and out the back of the house.
