Originating hundreds of years ago in Japan, Rain Chains act as linked funnels and are a decorative alternative to a cheerless gutter downspout. Rainwater playfully dances and flows down these handcrafted copper channels as it is guided from the rooftop to the ground. You will pray for rain once you attach your Rain Chain. A natural patina will develop on the polished copper styles over time, adding to the character and charm of these delightful chains.

Amberlinks Alto Steps completed this open staircase in the center of a contemporary condo. Amber, butterscotch and wheat are the colors alternating in this design. Later a matching 6 foot runner for the landing was added to complete the project. This dog is no longer slipping! Adhesive mesh is provided with each order.

The primary goal for this project was to craft a modernist derivation of pueblo architecture. Set into a heavily laden boulder hillside, the design also reflects the nature of the stacked boulder formations. The site, located near local landmark Pinnacle Peak, offered breathtaking views which were largely upward, making proximity an issue. Maintaining southwest fenestration protection and maximizing views created the primary design constraint. The views are maximized with careful orientation, exacting overhangs, and wing wall locations. The overhangs intertwine and undulate with alternating materials stacking to reinforce the boulder strewn backdrop. The elegant material palette and siting allow for great harmony with the native desert.
The Elegant Modern at Estancia was the collaboration of many of the Valley's finest luxury home specialists. Interiors guru David Michael Miller contributed elegance and refinement in every detail. Landscape architect Russ Greey of Greey | Pickett contributed a landscape design that not only complimented the architecture, but nestled into the surrounding desert as if always a part of it. And contractor Manship Builders -- Jim Manship and project manager Mark Laidlaw -- brought precision and skill to the construction of what architect C.P. Drewett described as "a watch."

Instead of a ragged lawn bordered by junipers, and guest arriving at the front door via the driveway, the design created a dedicated set of steps to welcome visitors and bring them through the garden.

LOOKING FOR IDEAS TO INSPIRE YOUR OWN NET-ZERO LUXURY LIFESTYLE?
Check out this Sun Valley, Idaho net-zero property on 300 of the most pristine private acres with Hyndman Creek running through it. That made this project a perfect candidate for combining a 5kW continuous 24/7 and 365 days a year micro-hydro power system with solar thermal on the pool house, guest house, and main house. The ranch had 8M BTUs running the electric/propane boilers for the snow melt system alone, add another 8M BTUs to heat the facilities and it’s no wonder they had to replace the utility meters every year due to excessive wear. We were able to offset all loads, heat the pool, and enable the property owner to eliminate ~ $300,000/year in propane and electric bills. No more need to constantly replace the utility meter!
