This 6,100 sq. ft. modern escape from city living was designed with family in mind! An elegant Mediterranean-inspired Hill Country design with a welcoming front courtyard using local stone mixed with earth-toned stucco. The front motor court is hidden away behind rock wing walls leaving the emphasis on the turreted area enclosing the grand staircase.
Rear porches, both upstairs and down, reflect the inspiration of a Mediterranean villa, with carefully crafted staggered stone arches. Large expanses of glass not only help to create the feeling of bringing the outside in, but also maximize the views of the lake from nearly every room in the home.
Interior thickened stone arches invite you to the family living areas and emphasize the timber box beams and wooden ceiling details in these areas.

Named for its poise and position, this home's prominence on Dawson's Ridge corresponds to Crown Point on the southern side of the Columbia River. Far reaching vistas, breath-taking natural splendor and an endless horizon surround these walls with a sense of home only the Pacific Northwest can provide. Welcome to The River's Point.

The existing home, designed and built in the early ’70’s, was contemporary in style. Two lengthy barrel skylights bathed the interior in daylight. Ribbons of windows provided unobstructed river views. JRML was commissioned to redesign the second floor, expand the library, and add a covered balcony with dining and entertainment below. View and outdoor experience were paramount. Local ordinances restricted new construction to the existing patio size. Angling the library wall and edge-mounting the cable rail increased the balcony’s floor area. Oversizing the sliding glass door maintained the river views. Existing patios, steps and new grill station were resurfaced for a matte look. The earthy color palette, Douglas fir rafters, beam and slatted privacy panels blend with the landscape. Motorized screens exclude insects. The roof and balcony, supported on the most minimal column and beam sizes lend the composition an open, streamlined aesthetic.

These Solid Western Red Cedar Custom Designed Garage Doors come in a Tuscan design with including panel molding wood trim around the perimeter and bottom section which enhance the Tuscan architecture of this exclusive San Diego home located within The Bridges community in Rancho Santa Fe. This is an original design created by Byron Ziegler and was stained and distressed by him personally. Byron designed this garage door after she had just purchased a basic dynamic style garage door from a local garage door company. We were installing new Tuscan inspired garage doors at the home next door when the owner of this home found us. To enhance look of the basic garage doors she had purchased we incorporated decorative glass with iron speak easy’s and and antique nails. We formulated a rich stain that would show the richness of the wood as well as accentuate the decorative hardware. Finally, we added custom iron handles which gave these garage doors the look and feel of an old world style door. Best of all these doors are sectional roll up and operate automatically with the push of a button.
